Has anyone noticed a sudden lack of interest in reading with their LOs? DD loves books and story time and the library, but now I can't get her to sit still long enough at home to read with me. This is a kid who would go through 15-20 books in a day previously.

Is it just being s toddler with way too much energy to burn that she can't sit still?

    I noticed that DD has less interest/attention span lately when we try to read to her (or she gets distracted, grabs the book from us and slams it shut, etc.) but she is super into "reading" books on her own.  This morning I gave her a stack of books to look at while I was taking a shower.  I hid behind the door for awhile just so I could enjoy watching her looking at and talking her way through the books.

    It seems like it changes all the time around here. She still loves to read, but somedays she'll sit for several books and other days she can't even make it through one story. She is just so curious. I continue to offer to read because she still loves reading in general--I just think it's the age they're at.

    DD still loves reading but it pickier about picking books and she did have about a week where she wouldn't let us finish a book! Drove me crazy! We would get to the end and she would snap it shut! She loves reading though.

    DD went through a phase like that, but now she's back into it. Her favorite right now is The Night Before Christmas, which surprises me because it's longer than her other books. She calls it "Santa" and asks for it all the time. At the end she says, "Ho ho ho!"

    she is just now getting into books...it was so hard to get her to sit for a book, but now she goes to her bookshelf and pulls them out and brings them too you...now she likes to get in her bed with a book....my fave part is now she "reads" me brown bear...it goes like this "brown beaw what see? yeyyow duck me!" it's very cute

    It definitely depends on the day. Some nights he'll sit with me forever reading different books. Some nights he only wants to read one specific board book about trucks. Some nights he acts like reading with me is killing him.

    Ha, DD loves this book too!  Her version is something like "brown bear, Oh, red bird, baaaa baaaa, woof! Oh chidwen, teacher!"  It takes about 10 seconds.
