AW - Nursery sneak peek, nearly done!

As most of you know, putting this nursery together has been a tough emotional project. I have to say though, now that it's coming together in realise how much I've changed from it being Finn's room - and the little personal touches now with Oliver's name all around makes it a very different room. It's a lot easier to take - easier than looking at all of Finn's things in boxes and pieces.
We still have to paint the ceiling sky painted, and I have stuff to put away, a couple more pictures to hang..., but overall - it's done.
It's such a bright room, with a great view, lots of sunshine and warmth. I can't wait to be snuggling a little January baby in here!
No real "theme" but we seem to have a few giraffes (starting with my late mother's childhood toy giraffe in a shadow box).. and there are some alphabet things (like the curtains and crib set)..

So, about the clock...
I bought it years ago in this funny little decor store. We named it "wine o'clock" because it was actually a wine rack/glass holder on the inside.
We took the wine rack and glass thingy out of it and DH added shelves instead. Gave it a fresh coat of paint and it's now a story time clock.
I'll always think of wine when I look at it though haahahahahaaa.
***Losses mentioned.*** TTC #1 since May 2012. Me: 37, OH: 41. Ectopic August 2012 => tubal damage.
Where did you get that pillow?? And that clock?
If you don't mind my asking, was your general "theme", or lack of, similar for Finn? We're trying to figure out how much we have to change to make our nursery not look like "Lincoln's room", and your comment about it feeling different gave me hope!
The pillow came from an Etsy shop called "goodnightsweetdreams" .. It's really well made, and she had it to me in less than two weeks. Really impressed.
Finn's room was similar in some ways - again starting with the giraffes (my mother's first then the wall sconces), but his was more neutral: creamy white walls, white curtains, no clock... I also had some tree decals up on the walls - an Australian theme, with koalas on the branches.
Changing the curtains was huge.
We also changed out the dresser and added that armoire instead - which seems like a weird thing to change, but having different drawers to put his clothes in made a difference.
The furniture is slightly rearranged..., again a small difference but makes a big difference to me.
It's the addition of Oliver's name that strikes me the most. I thought I would struggle with it - but being able to personalize it for Oliver really makes it his room.
Finn will always be there.. but it is a different space now.
It is hard. I've had many meltdowns in the process..

Husband and I just chatted about curtains last night...we have the same ones up but I'm struggling because they have such an impact on the room. I'm glad to hear changing them made a difference, I may give that a try as well.
We plan on keeping the same dresser and painting it, but I agree, I can't use the same drawers. I'm going to change what goes in which drawer, which sounds small, but I hope it works. That, and changing where the burp clothes are stored. I feel bad wanting a whole new one when we don't "need" it, but hearing you say you did make a switch and it helped takes away some of the guilt. I may move in that direction of the paint doesn't help.
Wow, that ended up being long, guess I needed to get that out!
