"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing
All healthy this end. Having a rough time of it at the moment but not ready to talk about it. Hope everyone is well x
28w along and doing pretty well. Heartburn hasn't been to bad lately so although I have Zantac at the ready haven't needed to take it yet. Two worse things right now is this horrible dry cough I have had for the last week+ not sure if it is pregnancy related or I caught something and a pain in my upper thighs that feels like I just worked out hard core and my muscles are hating me for it. Bumb is growing every day and I think she may have moved away from my pelvis area because I swear I felt her up by my ribs the other night. Tomorrow is my 28w check-up with the glucose test. I can't believe that she will be here in about 2 months it is surreal.
QOTW: Worse present...Basically anything my grandmother sends is "thoughtful" but an awful present (ugly xmas sweaters, beanie babies until I was in my 20s, a lot of religious themed gifts).

27 weeks and feeling good other than I think I have sleep apnea now
I wake up every day feeling like I haven't slept in a week and last Friday I slept 15 hours (from 10 pm until 1 pm the next day). I get that fatigue comes back in 3rd tri but that's ridiculous. C records me and I'm snoring loudly and gasping for air periodically. I'm seeing the OB today so I'm hoping she'll either give me a CPAP mask with no questions (fingers crossed!) or at least send me to a sleep center to get this figured out before the end of the month so it's at least covered before the new year rolls around and I'm back to square 1 with my deductible. Oy.
GTKY: This is actually C's story but it's one of my favorites. She was visiting her hometown (which is 4 hours from where we live) during college and her friend asked her to stop by her house to pick up her birthday present from her. The present turned out to be a video game rental with a set of rules: 1) it's due back in a month; 2) you break it, you buy it; 3) anyone else breaks it, it's double.
The most hilarious part is C didn't even have the console to play the game. And she had to drive four hours back to her hometown within a month to return it or else pay the late fees.
Thanks...?
I missed the check-in last week because we had both of our moms in town all week. Let me repeat...BOTH moms, ALL week. We both did a little happy dance on Sunday when they left!
We are 21 weeks and last week was a busy pregnancy week. I had a regular OB appointment where I did the 1 hour glucose test. I heard yesterday that I was 2 points over the normal range and now have to go back this week to do the 3 hour test. Ughhhh. I thought I was being careful with my diet and monitoring my weight gain pretty well. But, I'm trying not to get worked up until the results of the 3-Hour fasting glucose test.
We also had our Anatomy Scan last week. How amazing to see the 4 chambers of his heart pumping and his little limbs and body wiggling around! Everything with our baby boy looked good-for which we are very thankful. We did get a little bit of worrisome news...I have a marginal insertion of the umbilical cord. The doctor said his gut told him it was not serious and that because of the baby's movements he couldn't get a good indication of where the attachment is located, but he does want to monitor it more closely. So, we are going back in 6 weeks for another sonogram to take a closer look. At this point, we are trying not to dwell on it too much, because that will do no good until we know more. We are looking at the sonogram in 6 weeks as an insurance-paid chance to see our baby again!
Sorry to be so long-winded, but we had a big week last week. And, just to take a moment of selfish pride, here is a pic of our little man. Thanks for indulging me!
AHHHHHHHH! We are due in 3 days... Which feels ridiculous and wonderful, and terrifying and crazy. I am pretty much uncomfortable these day... but I nothing excruciating (I don't find third tri as hard as the puking and fatigue of the 1st tri.)
Just waiting for little bop bop to decide she is ready to come. We had a cervix check this morning (which was a whole ordeal, because I couldn't decide if I wanted to or not...) and are 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. So..... That's good... I guess?!?!
Just getting antsy pantsy! We don't go back again until next Friday. If am still pregnant then we will do a stress test and we will get an ultrasound to make sure everything is still looking good.
I talked to my Mom today and my sister and I were both due date babies, and both of her labors were under 7 hours... I am hoping that is genetic. So we are just walking, and walking, and bouncing on the yoga ball, and trying to get anything going we can! Can't wait to meet little baby Hayden!
QOTD: I get the worst gifts.... My Mom is still holding out that someday I will turn into a 12 year old girl. Last year I got Flannel Pajamas with pink and purple scotty dogs. The year before I got a beautiful silk scarf that was in a rainbow of pastels.... I call these gift the "gender policing gift of the year", because I think it is my Mom's way of reminding that I will always be female in her eyes. Maybe someday she will get it, but I am not holding out....
Baby Hayden Frances born 12/20/14 at 11:11 a.m... Our perfect little miracle. Here's how we got here:

Please update our delivery date to Jan. 28!!! That is our scheduled c-section.
Both boys are looking great. We are enjoying the ultrasounds every 4 weeks. The FUNNIEST thing happened at our last scan. Ultrasound Tech starts laughing and says, "um I can't get a good 3d pic of baby A." We asked ok why is everything ok. "Yes everything is fine, but it appears baby B is already doing 'boy things' and has learned how to teabag!" He had his junk is baby A's face!
Failed 1 hr glucose but past 3 hr. However, she does think Sarah reacts to sugar not as well as she should.
Just had our last baby shower! Here are a few pics!
First is of me and Sarah and the 2nd is a few of my bffs checking out our nursery.
