Can you bring a blow up twin bed? Our couches (the only sleeping option for H's at my hospital) were about 5 ft long with arm rests. Not good for my 6'6'' H. Luckily we asked about the mattress and they allowed it. We were there 3 nights with my C-section and I don't know what he would have done without the blow up!
What's their policy on breastfeeding/formula feeding? I would want to know this since if they're very pro BFing and you want to ff, they may give you a hard time. But if they're not pro bfing and you plan on bfing, you need to be ready to advocate since some places will give formula without permission.
What's their rate of c-sections and other interventions?
Policies on eating/drinking during labor
Nursery vs keeping baby in the room policies. Do you have options? What's your preference?
Will they let DH stay overnight?
And all the questions everyone else suggested too.
Ask about what medicines/ procedures they would possibly give you (Pitocin, Cervadil, Epidural, Stadol). Or, better yet, research them, so you know what their giving you prior to them actually giving it to you. I remember Stadol was a life saver in early labor before the epidural was administered.
