I've met the Gin Blossoms (when they were the Gas Giants briefly) and I physically bumped into Cree Summer the same night. I was at their concert with Tonic when "My Own Worst Enemy" was popular. I've come across local celebrities and been unawaringly (is that a word?) in the same building as a few celebrities but that's obviously not the same as meeting them

F15 January Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward To After Baby's Born
Sarah Michelle Geller is probably the biggest one I've met and talked to. My moms best friends daughter is a B (maybe C) actress. Her and Sarah are good friends and she came to my house for the wedding shower.
Born and raised in LA I have met others and seen tons. JTT went to my middle school. I also served tables for years and served a few over time.
My husband would kill to meet Sarah Michelle Gellar. He was a huge nerd and loved Buffy. She is his one "get out of jail free card" girl.
@crabigator I don't know but I never thought he was cute until she told me that story and after I was like hmmmm....lol so I don't think he does too bad for himself this was also before LJ left so they were still riding high
I went to prom with Johnathan Rice in high school. He's a singer/songwriter who's produced a few CDs. And recently hung out and took pics w Fran Drescher and Carly Rae Jepsen after seeing Cinderella on Broadway. My sister and I also met Carbon Leaf after a beach concert years back. There's a few more, but I'm blanking.
Fun thread!

@krispy83 - 8 year old me is soooooo jealous of you right now.
The only famous people that I have interacted with was Jurassic5. H got us tickets to meet the band and see their show this past summer, it was awesome.
F15 Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward to Most After Baby Arrives: BELLY SLEEPING!
Met as in actually talked to- I think the only one I've got is Julia Louis Dreyfus. We visited my in-laws in LA back when the big writers strike was going on like 5-6 years ago and we went to a rally. We saw quite a few famous people (cast of Grey's Anatomy, Debra Messing, etc.) but the only person we talked to was Elaine. Living in Buffalo, we see Bills players around quite a bit, but I don't personally know any of them. Other than that, we don't get famous people around here much!
@sarabeller Italian Job is one of me favorite movies! Super jealous! I met Whoopi Goldberg when she was in Reno filming Sister Act. My mom was an extra in the opening scene. Clint Eastwood and Bernadette Peters when they filmed Pink Cadillac. Brittney Spears at a gallery in Maui but I was far more fascinated by her bodyguard. He was the biggest person I've ever seen! Also Oprah likes to walk Polo Beach in Maui where we stay and we've seen her and Gail walking a few times. DH gave a high five to Dog the Bounty Hunter on the running path there too. George and Barbara Bush. My sister screamed "yo Barb" to her much to my embarrassment. She was nice and waived. Made a 10 year old's day! Our children's singing group got to sing for Reagan on the tarmac after he landed in air force one. That was one of my favorites.
TTC since 3/2011 Adenomyosis, LPD, hypothyroidism.
BFP on 7/20/12 after 4 cycles Clomid + IUI
2 large subchorionic hematomas & no heartbeat at 7w6d
D&E 8/18/12 Sonohysterography found septum and necrotic tissue.
I grew up with my dad working with the Mavericks, Stars, Sidekicks. I remember going to the Christmas party (Don Nelson days) when Jason Kidd was a rookie. Met Tatu several times (shout out to 80's sports celebs).
In my past job, coordinated an event at Don Sterling's Malibu house (still owned the Clippers)- ran into Stephen (Steven?) Baldwin at dinner there- Don was our client.
Last year, very very briefly met George W. & Laura at the presidential library opening private donor dinner (we, nursing students, were working it). DH was the server for George H. Bush & Barbara's table. He was professional but internally giddy.
FTW: My dad also worked on Barney (purple Barney & fuschia Barney). Hung out at the studio & met the famous dinosaur
My husband works in professional theatre so he has directed/assistant directed/stage managed the following people (so this is people whose phone numbers he still has) and I've thereby met them at the cast parties:
Danny Devito (super nice, super generous, literally cannot go out in public he's too bombarded) Bradley Whitford (nicest, smartest person on earth) Kelsey Grammar Judd Hirsch Richard Chamberlin Heather Tom Michael O'keefe (Danny noonan from caddyhack) Roger Bart (the producers) Robin Givens David Krumholtz Justin Bartha Julia Duffy There's more but I can't think of them. He also just met Josh Duhmel and apparently he is uncomfortably good looking in person.
My cousin was also Andrew Luck's backup QB at Stanford so him and Jim Harbaugh, and I went to high school w Carson Palmer but he was two grades above me, for all you football fans.
Probably the most famous person I have met is Paul Wall (a Houston rapper) I was working for a cell phone company and our store was his go to store, but the truth is I had no idea who he was until my manager and most of the other reps were acting all giddy like 12 year old girls. He seemed like such a good dad and his kid was so well behaved. I know guys so not impressive.
Here... Let me help everyone pick up the names they just dropped..
@krispy83 I'm going to refuse to believe JTT is or ever was a jerk. He is the only celeb I ever had a real crush on.
Growing up in Southern California I've seen many and interacted with a few but my favorite was when I raced Arnold Schwarzenegger on the Matterhorn. It was awesome and awkward every time our cars got near each other. Typically you just move along with your day when you recognize a celeb in SoCal (only tourists gawk or ask for pictures etc), it's just the cultural courtesy there so going away and coming back into contact felt like a violation of the unwritten rule. But afterward he high fived us all. I was probably 13 and it was pre-scandal and awesome.
I went to a Halloween party at Sofia Coppola's house. I met Francis Ford Coppola and Patricia Arquette. However I think sitting next to Robert Downy Jr. at my bosses wedding topped it for me. He was super sweet and gave me a hug at the end of the day. That was years ago. Closest star gazing I get to now is, Anna Hathaway orders cakes from me.
So which one of you fine, start studded ladies is going to introduce me to Andrew Lincoln? I feel like asking for Norman Reedus would be too difficult.
I also "met" part of the 90210 cast when I was about 5 - Jason Priestly, Shannon Dougherty and Luke Perry. My sister (who is 15 years older than me) was a HUGE fan and won passes to a meet and greet. Lucky her, she was supposed to be babysitting me so I had to tag along instead of one of her friends.
I have met Vertical Horizon, Rachael Ray and New Found Glory. Matt, the lead singer of VH, kissed me and my best friend on the cheek when we were 13 and met them at an event at the Borders on State St. We were first in line because we got there at 4am and the store employees told them and they thought that was adorable. LOL!
Rachael Ray was at a book signing. She is my favorite celebrity chef so that was a pretty magical day for me. (She's definitely black licorice, you either love her or hate her.)
So which one of you fine, start studded ladies is going to introduce me to Andrew Lincoln? I feel like asking for Norman Reedus would be too difficult.
My son is in youth group and friends with the little girl zombie from the first episode of TWD. She was the first zombie in the robe holding the teddy bear shown in the series.
My son FaceTimed with her while she was at one of the comic con events and Norman Reedus kept making faces behind her. He had no idea who Norman was and I was super pissed when I found out that my son was upstairs in my own house with a direct connection to Reedus and didn't tell me!
I worked for our campus activities board in college, so I was able to meet Dane Cook, Dave Chapelle, and Ben Folds. Dane was my favorite, as I thought he was super hot. I got to eat dinner next to him at TGIFridays after his show and tried to play it cool (probably very unsucessfully). :-)

Mia Hamm. She isn't that friendly though. Oh and I guess Abby Wambach (pro soccer player) too. I interned for a pro women's soccer team like 10 years ago.
I worked as a Genius at a couple of Apple Stores including one on the Vegas Strip; Jerry Seinfeld, Natalie Merchant, Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls,) Steve Harwell (Smash Mouth,) Flava Flave, Penn and Teller (individually,) Rita Rudner, Marie Osmond.
I also worked for an art supply store and met Drew Carey, Tracy Chapman, and Lars Ulrich.
Randomly enough, my SIL made friends with Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cuttie and one time he came to Sunday family dinner.
Wow I'm seriously jealous of some of you! Have a picture with Russell Crowe. His bodyguards were asses. Met Jamie Lee Curtis few times when she was a speaker for Children's Hospital event my boss throws.
Saw Trista and Ryan at Beaver Creek one yr. That's it Seen other pp in passing at Hamptons and Nantucket but never getting a pic! So many movies made in Pittsburgh recently near where I work but I was never around to see them. Believe me I stalked too lol.

2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do
"shared" program.
Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months.
Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!
George Strait, Faith Hill, George W. Bush, John Wall as well as most of the former UK basketball players that are still in the NBA, Patrick Patterson, Julius Randle, Terrance Jones, etc.
hopefulsprout you totally reminded me of my best celebrity encounter(s)! I don't know how I forgot this one! I was on the campus activity board too and we went to the annual NACA conference. I've met Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding) several times and hung out with him in our group's hotel room and ate pizza and went bar hopping with him! I also met Dustin Diamond (Screech) but that was just a hi/photo op thing.
DH is friends and golf buds with Chad Hall, an NFL free agent who's maybe played in like, 3 real games. He is super nice, but a total bro (but not a douchey one), and I'm not even really sure I'd consider him famous! haha
I saw Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Shaq, and Glen Davis (big baby!) from the 2011 Celtics roster in a hotel lobby but I literally was starstruck and couldn't say hi. I ran up to my room and called my mom and was excited and freaking out, and by the time I had composed myself, they were gone forever. =((
I've met Alan Jackson a few times. He comes to a local bar in town (via his boat) Sometimes he is friendly, sometimes he is hanging out on his own. When he is in a chattering mood, he is a very interesting guy to talk too. I also met Jason Taylor and Dan Marino. As a huge dolphins fan, I almost passed out when they were sat at a table next to me at lunch one day.
I once worked room service in a fairly small town in Michigan but surprisingly I got to meet: Shania Twain, Brittany Spears, Jessica Simpson, the righteous brothers (one died in the hotel that night after we served him room service- I promise I am not a killer!!!), blossom, B2K, and Jennifer Granholm. I also lived in the same dorm as Tony Sheffler and Greg Jennings (NFL players) and we used to hang out a lot.
My two biggest claims to fame: I "met" Taylor Swift in London where I mumbled incoherent words about loving her music. I also used to live down the street from Sinbad the comedian. He was pretty cool.
