Jammies

LO has been an overheater since day one. Because of this she is only truly at "her perfect temperature" if she's in cotton footie pajamas, with socks, zipped in her fleece sleep sack. (Weirdo, I know!) I'm having a hard time finding cotton ones that are 12-18 month range. I'm so bummed Carters stops at 9 mo for the sleep and plays, but their cotton footed ones for 12 months and up are on clearance now (very hard to find as the fleece are more popular during winter months) but are way too small (12 mo for her and shrunk already) and I find they have a much "snugger" fit that she doesn't like.

Where do you all buy your cotton footed jammies? (That's what we call them in our house) I'll also note I've struck out in Target, Walmart, and Marshall's this week... :-??

Re: Jammies

  • I see cotton footed PJs on carters website for 18 month olds. If I get on my PC tonight I'll post the link. But have you considered flipping the materials/pieces? Fleece pjs and cotton sleep sack? Same number of layers of each or is she just that specific?

  • We have that problem too.  They get really narrow at 12 months :(. Try gymboree.  Their clothes are much roomier.

  • Have you looked at Old Navy?  There are some options on their website:

  • Thanks girls! Children's place-ah ha! Completely forgot about that place! I still have mommy brain...3 years later. Lol and Gymboree-I'm not sure they gave the footie ones I will go look online tomorrow...old navy is more of two pieces I think and limited on selection of footsie style. Love Costco, but feel they run small, like carters at 12 mo but I think 18 mo might be too long? Great idea on the switcheroo, @Sanibel21‌ the only think is yes, I fear she is that picky bc sometimes if one of her sleep sacks is in wash, we will put her in just a short sleeve onesie with a fleece footie and I swear she is up a lot! :( I think I have some online shopping to do tomorrow, ladies! Nothing like a good ol time suck to keep me away from work... Ha!
  • Re: Carter's being too narrow.
I don't know what selection is like whee you live, but at my local store I can find any size in a narrow version (for the thin baby) and a wider version (for a heftier baby). Unfortunately, not all patterns come in both versions.

I haven't really read all previous replies, but we've gotten some cotton footed sleepers at Costco, Walmart, Carter's.
if you do go fleecy, Costco has up to size 5T currently. We had to get size 3T for DS1.
  • I recently found some at target, but I had to look for them in the Christmas jammie section,  they were buried behind all the fleece jammies.

    Good luck finding some

  • Walmart tends to be roomier, although IDK if they have exactly what you're looking for. I usually just buy fleece pants for LO there, but it might be worth a try.

  • I know, I know, you said she's picky.  But I have to ask because when our cotton footed jams are dirty, I do this instead.  Can you do a two piece cotton jammie set with socks?  It's kinda the same, right?

  • Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I took almost everyone's advice and as of now, we got 3 pairs of cotton jammies at CHildrens place on clearance for $11 total and they are good, but on the skinny side so no long sleeved onesies underneath. Also, got a couple cotton ones that are "footless" and she didn't seem to feel a difference w just socks, so that works as well. I also found some "little me" in Lord and Taylor on clearance that seemed better for a looser fit, but of course DH said no bc we had just walked out of CP. gah!
