Anyone feeling baby yet?

Firstly, I apologize if this has already been posted, I did a search and didn't find much.

I'm 14 wks & 3 days and think I can feel baby!  I had my monthly belly appointment yesterday and the Dr. told me the baby was moving around a lot when he did the heartbeat check.  People say it will feel like a flutter but before today I always just assume it's gas LOL..  But this morning I'm feeling something a little "hard" (not sure what the correct descriptive word is - maybe pressure?) on my right side...so I'm pushing there and soon enough it has moved!  I can't feel the movement, but I swear its the baby!
Anyone else experiencing movement or making the baby move?

  • unfortunately, I can't change my screen name :(  The site won't let me.

  • Flutters might very well be possible since you are closer to 15 weeks, but the kind of tummy moving movements you are describing are most likely to occur in the third trimester when the baby is bigger and running out of space in the uterus. So flutters like a fish flopping around first, nice sweet little kicks next, and then alien body parts jabbing out of your skin. I think you can message a moderator about changing your screen name as well. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
  • Here is just one of the threads that happened regarding baby movement recently.. as you can see, it didn't go well for OP, so just be prepared if you get some snarky comments! Being that you're further along than 12 weeks I tend to agree with above, MAYBE you are feeling a tiny flutter, but it's still extremely unlikely.

  • I've been doing a lot of reading and most sources say you can feel movement at 14 weeks though more likely at 16 weeks unless you are thin or a STM. I've been feeling that "fish flopping" feeling for a couple days (almost 15 weeks), but I'm just chalking it up to weird gas!

  • I was at the OB yesterday for a heartbeat check (13w5d). The LPN pointed out that the random static sounds were kicks/movement, but I couldn't feel a damn thing. I don't expect to feel anything for another month or so.

  • First time I felt DD (first pregnancy) I was around 14/15 weeks but it was just flutters. At 22 weeks you could feel her with your hand on my stomach. Not often but it did happen, mostly if I was laying on my back. She HATED when I did that. She was an ACTIVE baby though.
I didn't really think it was her at 14/15 weeks, I assumed it was gas until it was consistent and I wasn't gassy lol.

  • Maybe this is a dumb question but how was the dr able to tell the baby was moving with just a heart doppler?

The baby should have been moving it's feet and legs for weeks now, but you haven't been able to feel it. They are so small. My dr., confirmed with me that I probably won't feel anything until 18 weeks and then it would be small flutters and not all the time. You should not feel any movement from the outside for some time (like 20+ weeks).

  • @schroead‌ Haha I'm 14 weeks and I'll get those sensations too and as soon as I say "I wonder if..."

... it becomes apparent that it was gas :P

  • Haha that's usually the end result @Trampslikeus‌! ;)

@elley1486 When using a fetal Doppler, its pretty easy to tell when the baby is moving. You can hear the heartbeat one second, then a swish like noise, then no heartbeat!
