So you know you're going to need some things after birth like stool softener/colace, witch hazel pads/tucks and plenty of pads. Last time I totally meant to go buy those before giving birth, but went into labor the day before I was planning to go to the store. My psa is to buy those now and that the tucks/witch hazel pads are at target and they have an up and up version. I went today and they were nearly impossible to find because they were on a bottom shelf.
I just say to get this now because last time dh asked his step mom to get me some tucks pads and she came back with some crazy tiger balm pain patch, totally not the same thing. Dh did go get them for me but seriously it would have been easier to get them before than having several people do this on my behalf :-)
I also recommend dermoplast, but my hospital gave me an extra can so I didn't have to purchase it last time but I did need extra witch hazel pads and pads for me. Hope this helps someone :-)

    Same here, I needed more tucks pads and had to look all over the store for them last time. I already bought the up and up brand too for this go round! If you use cartwheel scan it and a discount for digestive aid or something applies to it, even though it's not a digestive at all!

    A tiger balm pain pad - yikes - seems like that might burn a bit on the vagina / asshole area.

    My hospital gave me a lot of extra dermoplast and witch hazel pads. I still have some witch hazel pads in the fridge from last time - ha ha. I'll have to see if they expire. But good reminder to pick up some pads!

    I didn't even think of those things, last time the hospital sent me home with all that. Oi better get on it!

    I didn't get to take any tucks pads home, but I did get to take the dermoplast. I've got some tucks now though, important to have!

    So about these pads...I've had aloe very and witch hazel on my shopping list for awhile to make the miracle pads I've been hearing so much about, but will pry just be staring at the materials when I get home. What exactly do I do with the two, just a little squirt of each and chill them? Or is it more specific than that. And what kind of aloe vera? Should it not be the usual gel kind you find? :-?

    what kind of dermoplast is the best? is the regular fine, or just go with the anti-bacterial?

    For the what to do of stuff I was instructed to lay about 3 tucks pads on top of a menstrual pad, use a bottle that give you to spray warm water to wash and spray regular dermoplast on your labia and then carefully pull up your panties so you don't lose the tucks. Personally I needed them asap so I couldn't use Amazon, but I suppose you can be prepared by ordering now! I got about 100 witch pads from the hospital but ended up buying 100 more.

    I have been using witch hazel as a facial cleaner too and love it!

    I would have to search it out as it's been awhile but when I was on Jan14 they had a thread with a full tutorial on this. I remember thinking I would have to bookmark it for later and never did.

    I just laughed out loud about the tiger balm patch:) n heidi, some people call them padsicles and make soothing pads for after birth w witch hazel/tucks and freeze them. I'm already using my homemade version bc I have awful pressure and swelling down there. Pinterest has a lot of ideas:)
