  No experience but I guess if I were you and really wanted more confirmation, I would go to a third party and have another scan done. Maybe one of those elective ultrasound places?

  Um, how to be nice? Genitals do not change. Once they are in place, that's it.

  80% is not 100%. The only sure fire way to know what's in there is to give birth and take a look between the legs. Or have the blood work done. Ultrasounds are NOT EVER 100% on anything.

  I'm sorry you are upset, but you weren't told that your baby was definitely a boy at your earlier ultrasound, so there should have been some room for doubt in your mind. Baby girls are awesome, and you have a healthy one, so chin up.

  I seriously read the post title as "sex change at 21 weeks?". My advice was going to be to "not do it until after birth".

  I had an early elective scan done, and was told boy. We had a gender reveal party and everything.

  I would trust the second more than the first since you were farther along. Was it the same tech? I guess it's true you can't be 100% sure until the baby is born, but at my anatomy scan it was pretty dang clear she was a girl. I'm not sure how it could be mistaken at that point in the pregnancy unless they just didn't get a clear view. I agree with others and would pay for an elective to be sure though.

  Whether you are having a boy or girl, dose it really matter? you're having a healthy baby, no need to be upset. Congrats!!!

  Thks moms.. Feel better. Think it was just shock and a whole bunch of hormones upsetting me. I'm just going to wait til birth. It's a healthy child so what the heck. @starshollow‌ - gyni showed blood flow on screen in blue and red, and pointed out genitals. Hate being stuffed around.

  Don't let people make you feel bad for being upset about this. I agree with SharkFarts 100%. A lot of fantasizing and excitement goes into learning the sex of your baby. I don't blame you for being emotional. I cry about dumber stuff than this all the time. Today a Foldgers coffee commercial made me cry.

  I'm sure it's stressful. I can't imagine and don't want to. Like everyone else said I would def get another ultrasound done to give you piece of mind.

  I agree with what @SharkFarts said as well. I think at this point in my pregnancy I would feel a form of a loss if I found out our baby was the opposite sex. I am such a planner - we had a "gender reveal photo shoot" and have already started planning his nursery and purchasing gender specific items so I can understand the shock you are feeling. Congratulations on your baby girl!

  Exact same thing happened to me. They gave me no exact percentage or anything. But I know the feeling. Just gotta flip your mindset a bit :P
