High grade lesions

I found out from my doctor not to long ago that my papsmear came back abnormal. He told me that I have a high grade lesion on my cervix and since this was my second one since I had a LEEP procedure done that I'd have to go see an OB Oncologist. I'm absolutely terrified and it feels like time is just dragging away. I don't get to see the oncologist until the 18th and now I'm in limbo as to what is going to happen. I'm scared that this could be cancer. I'm scared that it may effect this pregnancy. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? What happens next? This is all new to me and on top of my already high risk pregnancy I'm scared that I might not make it through this. I guess I just need some words of encouragement. T&P please.

    I'm very sorry for what you're going through.  It's hard to know how this could affect your pregnancy b/c you didn't mention how far along you are, etc.  Why are you high risk besides this issue (you said you are "already high risk")?  Usually the gyn oncology surgeons will only do a procedure which is absolutely necessary during pregnancy, and if you're near the end of your pregnancy, it may be safe to wait.

    1/2012 IVF #1 BFN
    4/2012 FET BFP #3
    5/2012 7w1d u/s: anembryonic demise; M/C @ 8w.
    6/2012 found Stage II/III endo on laparoscopy, removed w/ laser.
    8/2012 IVF #2 epic fail: no viable embryos.

    Vacation, break, second opinions, on to new RE.
    1/2013 Surprise chemical pregnancy BFP #4 (break cycle), IVF #3 postponed.
    2/2013 TI w/ hormonal support, prednisone, aspirin, Lovenox, acupuncture gave us a miracle BFP #5!
    Heartbeat on U/S at 6w1d!     Baby,please stay!!
    Our miracle baby boy arrived 10/2013!  We are so in love!!

    10/2014 Surprise BFP #6
    Our second daughter arrived in May 2015!  We are so grateful!

    Yes, how far along are you?  I think that will go a long way in the doctor deciding what to recommend. 

    Did you just do a pap or did your doc also do a colposcopy and biopsy?  I know other women have had that done during pregnancy and I believe that would help determine what stage the abnormalities are. 

    Please keep us updated and I hope everything works out for your and your baby.

    I am 10 weeks and five days pregnant. I have only had a papsmear done and haven't had anything else done yet because they immediately recommended me to an OB oncologyst because of a previous LEEP procedure to remove pre-cancerous cells. I don't see him until the 22nd and that's where we'll establish what happens next and to answer your question I am already considered high risk because I delivered my son at 35 weeks.
