Christmas Breakfast

As if I didnt' have enough cravings from the dinner thread...

What do you have on the menu for Christmas breakfast?

MIL makes an awesome breakfast casserole along with pull-apart caramel rolls. We'll prob stay at home this year which I'm excited about, but I'll miss it.

Re: Christmas Breakfast

  • An egg bake that we make ahead of time and bake in the morning. Might try a crockpot version of monkey bread.
  • Loading the player...
  • Growing up we always had those cinnamon rolls out of a tube.  Now I make ebelskivers in various flavors.  I think my favorite is honey glazed, but I also like stuffing them with chocolate or cinnamon cream cheese.

  • pound cake french toast
    bacon
    hot chocolate
  • My husband requested chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. I'm adding hashbrown casserole too! And maybe pointsettias, which is just champagne and cranberry. Very tasty though!

  • I don't know yet. We haven't started any traditions (my mom made an egg casserole growing up) but we will probably have cinnamon rolls or something similar.

  • Stuffed cinnamon rolls
  • I'm not sure if we will go over to the inlaws for breakfast or not but if we don't I will make homemade cinnamon rolls. If we do, mil usually makes eggs, bacon, pillsbury cinnamon rolls, fruit....stuff like that.

  • Mmmm cinnamon rolls in a tube... I've been looking everywhere for these! And by everywhere, I mean two stores...

If we are home Christmas morning, we will have bacon. If we are at the ILs, we will have bacon there. Love me some bacon!
  • Cinnamon rolls for us too!!

  • Pull apart caramel rolls sound so good @zazu13‌! DH and I have traditionally done cinnamon rolls every year but we will be at my parents' house this Christmas morning. My dad will probably make his awesome crock pot breakfast casserole with biscuits and sausage gravy.

Ebelskievers are my favorite!! I wish they weren't so labor intensive.

They are delish and easy: https://www.rhodesbread.com/mobile/recipes/view/butterscotch-bubbleloaf. We use vanilla, not butterscotch.

  • Usually sausage strata (MIL's recipe).  This year we had an awesome breakfast casserole at a Thanksgiving breakfast we went to so we may make that instead.  It has sausage, thin egg noodles, eggs and cheese.  It was sooo good and pretty easy.

  • My mom has always made ham and Swiss with mushroom croissants that love to death!

  • A big favorite at my parents' home is cranberry french toast. Thick bread slices/chunks with cranberry apple compote and powdered sugar... YUM!

  • We do the Paula Dean's Praline French Toast recipe too! It's amazing! and a Sausage Egg Casserole. Both are recipes that you make the night before and bake in the morning so that all we have to do is pop everything in the oven in the morning.
