Issues with doct

So I went for an ultrasound at 32 weeks and the tech was the same one I had at my 20 week ultrasound, she told me though that the last time I was there she noted that the umbilical cord didnt attach to the center of the placenta. My issue is she didnt tell me that and my doctors didnt say anything to me about it. This time at my scan she didnt say anything again but I saw her notations she was making and she stated that one of my babies kidneys are dilated. All things my doctors havent said a word to me about. Im concerned because of all my googling that I have done on both issues I wonder if I need more testing, or closer observation. My first child (who is now a healthy 5 year old) I had IUGR, and low fluids and protien in my urine and all sorts of things that I was put on bed rest and I had NST every other day and they induced me at 39 weeks. I dont know what to do.

The tech should not be telling you anything. She is not qualified to diagnose. She might be making notes for your OB to look at certain things. Everything might still be within normal range so your OB isn't concerned.

Stop googling and ask your OB.

Yeah, so - the tech. is there to perform a task, which is to give you the ultrasound and take notes, she's not there to share this information with you, this is why you see a doctor.

Then, the doctor will likely take a look and decide whether it's even share-worthy or just random factors that don't mean anything, and should be left on paper, precisely so you, the mother, don't Google yourself into a state of panic and worry, the way you have.

Frankly, that tech needs to be fired. And you need to call your doctor today and discuss what she told you. It's not her job to give you medical information. It's also entirely possible she isn't very good at deciphering images and your doctor looked and didn't see the same problems.

Call your doctor to put your mind at ease. And step away from google.

And this is why the techs are not allowed to tell you anything - they are not qualified to diagnose anything. I know it's basically impossible not to read the notes if you can see them, but you're only going to freak yourself out if you do. If your doctor didn't say anything about it, it probably means that there's nothing to say, but I would go ahead and call.

The techs cants diagnose. I agree youre probably in an okay range so the dr didnt think to mention it. Doesn't hurt to call and ask though.

Every time you post I seriously disregard whatever you say more and more.

Why the hell would the tech be fired for not diagnosing a patient above her level of expertise? That's not her job.

If the kidneys have something called pyelactasis, it is very common. My son had it and the great majority of the time it is resolved in utero.
