how often do you bathe your child(ren)?

Re: how often do you bathe your child(ren)?

  • Well, not just curious. Dd is really dry and I want to skip another bath....
  • Loading the player...
  • Every other day for the most part.
  • Almost never...it's probably really gross, but my children are super dry skinned...  I wipe them off very well after diaper changes and wash their hands, but reserve baths for M until she is messy, which might be every day but might be a week. Or if she seems smelly, which happens occasionally.  The little one gets baths about once/week too.  He likes them, but he never seems dirty and I just don't have time with 2u2.
  • Every 2-3 days for both of them. It's usually every other day but once a week or so we skip 2 days between baths depending on what we are doing.

  • Every other day. If I didn't stick to that schedule and instead bathed them based on when I felt like doing it, they'd probably never get a bath!

That being said, I did skip bath night last night since DH is out of town and I'm just not feeling up to bathing 2 crazy toddlers on my own right now. He gets back tonight, so they'll get a bath then.

  • During the summer I do every day since DD loved the sandbox at daycare. Now that it's winter and the outside play is infrequent every other day. On the weekends I skip by going from Thursday night until Sunday night to give her skin a break.
  • Most of the time daily but Frida you and Saturday baths are optional
  • Everyday for sure when she is in daycare. If it's a weekend and we pass out early, oh well. Those are few and far between, though.

  • Every few days. Unless he takes a shower with us, but now that's it's cold out I have been taking baths with him to warm up and relax.
  • Two times a week usually. Occasionally three times a week if DH is home and insists on bathing him. I HATE giving him baths, he gets so angry when I take him out and it's just frustrating. He has extremely dry skin and only goes to nursery school once a week, otherwise he's home and stays pretty clean. I was his hair once a week.

Pretty much this.  If I don't bathe the kids on nights after daycare, I feel like they are going to bed yucky.  But during the winter we often skip on non-daycare days when they aren't very messy or haven't been playing outside.  I also sometimes do water only baths where I just rinse them off but don't soap them up so their skin doesn't get so dry.

  • Twice a week here.  DH is in charge of baths and he feels 2x/week is enough.  When he was traveling Asia for work, I did baths every other day.  It helped DS calm down and get ready for bed.

  • Usually twice a week unless they get messy sooner. Usually that happens if DD1 has a particularly messy meal, and sometimes I'll give DD2 a bath to relax her if she's having gas issues. Both my kids enjoy baths, but DD1 has sensitive skin.

  • We do everyday. It seemed to help DDs schedule and now DS seems to really calm down in the bath. Most nights I let them sit in the tub and only wash what my Dr. Calls the hot spots like face, hands etc... And other nights I wash them all over. They both get lotion after and DS gets aquaphor on dry spots

  • We're supposed to bathe these things? With actual water?! ;)

C showers once a week and plays in the tub with E a second day. She's kind of gross, I guess. She'll go 3-4 days between washes in the winter. In summer we all shower pretty much daily because we get hot or beach sandy.

E has been shower/bathing with DH or alone almost daily because it SHUTS HIM UP. He isn't dirty out anything, I just need quiet. Lol

A gets a wash cloth bath every day and a bathtub bath every other day because she always smells like sour milk from the reflux spitting.

  • Every other day...ish.
  • Everyday during the week. Depending on what we been doing during the day on the weekend. I feel that it helps her calm down for bed.

  • Everyday. It's her bedtime routine and DH has to do it. If we are busy or I am home alone we do skip. We lotion after. Kenzie loves the bath so most nights she just plays in the bubbles.

Every other day, or more recently every third one....

We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013.  We love her to pieces.

We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011.  She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.

  • Usually 6 days a week

  • DD1 has ezcema in the winter, so she gets one bath/week. DD2's hair gets greasy much faster, though, so she gets 2 / week - Wednesdays and Sundays. Sometimes DD1 hops into the water quickly on Wednesdays, too, because she likes to bathe, but I don't wash her hair and avoid soap anyway because of the ezcema. I cannot wait until that's done (my pedi said if it's because of cold like DD1's is then it usually goes away when they're out of toddlerhood).

  • We have done baths every day since birth pretty much. DS had super dry skin and some small eczema patches and NOTHING was helping so we started doing them every other day in the last month or 2 and its been life changing. Literally no dryness anymore and his skin is so soft. I bathe him in daycare days and saturdays when we have little gym and skip the other days. I am sure in the summer we will need to pick it up again but for now this is working great.
  • Every day unless we're out late or something, which is very rare.  But they come home a mess from daycare usually.

This for us.  It really helps get him in the bedtime mood.  Plus I have this weird thing where I just can't stand not giving him a bath everyday.  I just think it's gross he sits in a diaper all day and when they are little, spitting up on themselves all day, etc.  We will see when the next baby comes how that changes ;)

    Anniversary

  • I try to make the 12yr old bathe daily, but she's not very into the idea... she's becoming a little hippie and it's making me insane. The 7yr old bathes every two or three days. The little guys bathe probably twice a week with soap (by soap I mean babywash), and twice a week without soap, so every other day or so - sometimes more often if they get covered in something gross.

  • Just because he loves his baths and it helps him wind down for bed we usually bathe him daily and he tends to get really dirty in my parents backyard.
  • We do baths more often than we used to. My daughter has dry skin and excema. Struggled with it since birth. We have recently discovered goats milk soap that you can buy in a "milk bath" and this has REALLY helped her skin. It's all natural ingredients. Seems like now the more I let her soak in the milk bath the better her skin is.
  • Every 2-3 days. We could probably get away with less since she gets wiped down after every meal and her hair doesn't get very greasy, but she loves playing in the bathtub, so it's really five minutes of bathing followed by 30-45 minutes of playtime, and it gives me the opportunity to clean the sink, toilet and floors while she plays. :-)
