NCDR: Engagement ring insurance

So I'm on my computer and as I'm typing, I look down and realize that I'm missing a tiny diamond in the band of my engagement ring... womp womp.
We have it insured... so am I right in thinking that they will replace it?
Does anyone have experience with this? Should I call the insurance company?

Re: NCDR: Engagement ring insurance

  • The only experience I have with insurance was when my ring was stolen out of my drawer at work and they wouldn't replace it.

This has happened to me a couple times and they have fixed it. I actually just lost one of my tiny diamonds recently and need to take it in.

ETA:we just take it to the jeweler

  • Call the issuance for directions. I know with mine it had to be sent someplace in particular. I actually broke one of the diamonds on the side of mine.
  • Thanks everyone. I'm super bummed!

  • DH works for a jewlery store which all their diamonds come with an insurance plan for life. If a diamond falls out and is lost (even the center diamond) it'll get replaced with relatively the same specs(just wether it needs new prongs is a different story) My rings are under a metal insurance plan through the company. I just take my rings in to the store every 6 months to check it and if a diamond is lost you just take it to the store.
