Sleep question

How old is your LO now and what is the longest he/she has slept at night?

My LO will be 8 weeks on Saturday and the longest she has slept is 4 hours.

I was spoiled with my oldest because she slept through the night at 6 weeks. Nearly 7 hours a night.

Mine is 8 weeks. Longest stretch has been 6 hours but commonly sleeps 4.5 hours for the first night stretch (after the first wake up, she tends to sleep for two hour stretches).
Doesn't nap well during the day. Mostly BF with one 2 oz formula bottle at night.

  • We're 8w2d and last night was the longest stretch. We got 6 hours. She does get a mixture of formula and ebm though which we started 2 days ago. Prior to that the longest she got was 4 hours.
  • We usually get 2 4 hour stretches, but it can take up to two hours to get her to fall back asleep in the MOTN. Usually closer to an hour though. DD is mostly formula with a little BF and is 5.5 weeks old.

  • Nolan is 11 weeks. We get a 5-6 hour stretch, then feed, then a 2 hour stretch, then feed, then maybe another half hour. His sleep is still pretty loud and squawky though. He's EBF>

The longest we've gotten was 7 hours one night around 6 weeks. We got 5 hours once too. We usually get at least one stretch of 3-4 hours followed by 2-3 hours but sometimes she fights that first stretch until after 12am or later. It often also takes up to 2 hours to get her back to sleep after she wakes up to feed. Last night was pretty great, 11-2:30, 4-6, 7-9:30. She is EBF and sleeps in her RNP at night.

Eta: DD is 8 weeks today. Time flies!

  • On a good night he sleeps 4.5 hours and then two 2-hour chunks. He rarely sleeps more than 20 minutes during the day.
On the bright side, he's a better sleeper than my first, who ate every two hours on the dot and only napped in the car seat.

  • DD will be 10 weeks tomorrow.... she is a unicorn baby. Her longest stretch has been 9 hours, which she's done twice in the lat week. Typical is 6-8 hours. EBF

  • Mine is 5 weeks old and he's had a couple of 5 hour stretches. Not every night, though! Usually his longest night stretch is 4-4.5 hrs.
  • Baby is 6 weeks and we tend to get a 5-6 hr first stretch and then two 1.5-2 hr stretches after that.  She doesn't really go to "bed" until 11 or 12 though.

DS will be 10 weeks on Sunday. We've had two 4.5 hour stretches but usually he sleeps around 2 or 3 hours. He's EBF.

  • My girl is 7 weeks. We start bedtime between 10 and 11 and usually get between a 4 and 5 hour stretch up for 15 minutes for change and feeding (BF) then another 3 hour stretch.

When we went to Indiana a few weeks ago the day we got there she slept 10 hours. Straight.
  • DD is 7 weeks and EBF. She's been consistently sleeping 6.5-7 hours at night, usually followed by a 3.5 hour stretch (except for this morning!). I don't know how we got this unicorn baby but it's great while it lasts!

DD is 9 weeks and now into what seems her new routine gives us a 5-6 hour stretch at first, then another 3ish hours after the MOTN feeding. I did get one fluke 8 hour stretch from 11-7 once. Of course that hasn't happened since. She's given BM in a bottle as I'm EPing. And her bottle before bed is 3oz of formula.

  • 9 weeks today. He usually sleeps no longer than three hours at a time, but last weekend he slept four hours one night. I was hoping it was the start of something, but I guess not. Until today he was mostly breastfed, with a couple of bottle of formula thrown in including one in the evening. Today we're switching to formula only, so we'll see if that makes a difference.

  • DS is 7.5 weeks and typically sleeps only 2-3 hours before waking to nurse. He's EBF. Ocassionally he stays asleep 3.5 hours and once last week he made it almost 5. Once.
  • 7 weeks tomorrow. Mostly BF. He was sleeping 3-4 hours a in the first few weeks but now it's more like 2-3 hours at a time. It wouldn't be so bad except that it takes 1-2 hours to change him, feed him and repeat before he falls asleep.
  • 10 weeks tomorrow (holy shit!!)

normally he gets 3.5 ounces of formula and then rocked for all of 5 minuets and I put him in his rnp, swaddles, white noise, and the vibration on between 10-11.  He was starting to sleep past 7 but since starting daycare he has been waking up in between 4-6.  Still not too shabby but I am ready for him to go back to 8+ hours because that was sweet!

Well I guess I didn't realize how lucky I am with my little unicorn. She is 8 weeks old, and sleeps at least six hours in the first stretch, but usually 8-9. Her longest stretch was 10 hours.

Edit to add that she is EBF.
28 years old. Married 5 years.

Baby #2 (AND #3...SURPRISE!) Due Nov 17, 2016. Found out it was twins at 18+5!

  • 7.5 weeks, longest has been 6 hours straight, but he's always slept 4 hours consistently, and when we're up feeding, we're changed, bottle made and eaten and back to sleep in about 20 minutes. I love him for this!!

My older 2 both STTN around 12 weeks (like a 8-10 hr stretch). They slept a solid 12 hours with 2 naps from 6-12, and then down to 1 nap from 12 months on. DD quit napping at 18 months (just in time for DS to be born, lol) and DS stopped napping regularly at 3 yrs old.
  • DD pretty consistently goes 6-7.5 hours from the last feeding of the day to first night feeding, that has her up anywhere between 1 and 3 am, then depending on when that happens, she will sometimes go another four hours, but more often it's only 2-3 or less if she's gassy, which happens often, though seems to be getting better! She's EFF.

  • 10 weeks/ EBF. His longest stretch is 5-7 hours then 1.5-4 hours. He used to take 1-2 hours to get back to sleep MOTN but around 8 weeks grew out of that so I'm really happy with where we are now.

  • Wow lots of good sleepers! Dd will be 6 wks tomorrow and she sleeps 2-4 hrs at a time. I usually get three good stretches of sleep before she is up for good. I am lucky that she goes back to bed pretty easily (usually). Although I let her sleep with me or in her glider.

  • I'm so jealous of all your unicorn babies but I'm still holding on to hope that he's still young (5.4 weeks) and will sleep longer in a few weeks. Typically we get 3 hrs starting around 11-12) and then two 2 hr stretches. He naps pretty good during the day, 2.5-3 hrs, except yesterday. And the longest stretch was 4.5 hrs thanksgiving day.

DS is pretty much all over the board. I typically get at least 5 hours for the first stretch, up for 20 minutes to eat, and then back to bed for another 4-5 hours. Last week though he was sleeping from 10pm-7am. That changed again when he decided to get up twice last night. I wish it would get more consistent but grateful for the sleep he is letting me get.

ETA: DS is 11 weeks old and EBF.

  • I'm so glad I am not the only one who is up every 2 hours. Our first stretch is usually 3 hours then she nurses for an hour  @-) sleeps another 2, nurses for another 45min-hour, then sleeps another 2.

H works nights so it's just me at night and most of the day while he's sleeping.

  • How old is your LO now and what is the longest he/she has slept at night?

My LO will be 8 weeks on Saturday and the longest she has slept is 4 hours.

I was spoiled with my oldest because she slept through the night at 6 weeks. Nearly 7 hours a night.
Someone answer me this- are we counting the total time slept only or time between start of one feed to the next??

Geez... Lo will give me 3-4 hours between feedings after putting him to bed then it's no more than 3 hrs between which means no more than 2-2.5 hr of sleep for me. I also get him up after he starts grunting and wiggling because I can't sleep well when he does. I Guess I could stretch it if I listened to grunting for half an hour but what's the point...

  • EBF. She is 8 weeks old and usually falls asleep at 10, sleeps until 4, then up again around 7 and 10 to eat. Her longest stretch was 6.5 hours. But keep in mind she usually screams pretty much continuously from 5 or 6 until 10 or 11, so it's like we pay for the decent sleep stretches with hysterical and inconsolable screaming all evening wrong. We love her so much but she is a very fussy baby most of the day. X_X She's testing our patience for sure!
