Amazon Thank You List/Registry Stalking

Perhaps this is just me, but I am a registry stalker, and I find the damn Thank You List link on our baby registry is SO hard not to click.

Must. Not. Click. I'm OK with knowing what has been purchased---that excites me---but I do want to be surprised at who got me what at least. That link taunts me though.

Anyone else have registry stalking issues?  I feel like I have to stalk Amazon no matter what because items become unavailable from time to time and I have to re-register for them from a different seller.

Re: Amazon Thank You List/Registry Stalking

  • We just started the baby registry and have only about 10 items on it so it's too early.
But I did this with my wedding registry. I'm with you- it is so tempting to click....and I am a person who loves surprises, especially gifts. It takes so much willpower!

Ok, I feel dumb asking this, but on your Amazon registery, how are you listing it so that it is easily accessible to guests for your shower? My sister (host of my shower) listed it as a registery on the invitations, but do people just look up your name? So clueless.

  • I stalked my wedding registry all the way up until my bridal shower. Once I did it once I couldn't stop lol. My baby shower invites just went out this week and my shower is in 4 weeks so I doubt anything is purchased yet
  • Well, since I'm the only one buying off the registry, I have no problem stalking my own purchases. I'm just using the registry feature on Amazon to keep track of things and stay organized.
This for me. Mine is basically a shopping list of stuff I want to buy. I'll end up with a super small shower and am not depending on many gift purchases. I keep taking stuff off that I buy as I find sales.
    Me three.
  • My baby shower invites haven't quite gone out yet, but some people know where we are registered because they have asked. I haven't registry stalked, but I am constantly on there updating and deleting because we have bought/been given a lot of stuff.
  • I am scared people are going to judge my registery because I pretty much added a ton. That being said, all my family scolded me to stop buying things for the baby so they could help.

There is a "Find a Registry" link on Amazon just like other sites have. Or you can search on Amazon for "First Name Last Name's Baby Registry" and it will come up. I've purchased for others via Amazon Registry and it was super easy.

I clicked the Thank You List back when 2 items were purchased and it showed who bought them for us. 3 more were purchased this week (invitations were received this week) and it's taking a lot of will power not to click it, but I think I will remain strong...
  • I'm a STM but I still made a Target registry to keep items we want to buy for baby girl in one organized place, plus when I can't sleep at night I go on the app and it feels like I'm shopping. However no one knows I have it and the other day it says some stuff was purchased... Hmmm. Now I'm curious who found my registry and who bought stuff.
With my wedding and DS I always stalked my registries. Hard not to.
