random target gift receipt Q

I thought that target gift receipts were coded such that anything on the receipt could be returned w/ the gift receipt & you didn't have to deal w/ matching up the gift receipts w/ the items...I even asked specifically about it b/c I was buying a number of things for several bday parties and wanted to be sure that the gift receipts would work for any of them. She said yes it didnt matter. Now I'm putting them in hte cards and noticing that there is an item listed at the bottom...just a single item and for some reason, 3 of them have the same item listed at the bottom & the 4th has a different item. Now I'm afraid the receipt won't work if the parent tries to take something back...anyone know?
