I have a 7 day newborn and my LO loves the left side. I'm officially about a cup bigger. I do 20min each side religiously. Looking for advice. I currently do not pump, but I do have one.
It's pretty common to have one side that gives more milk than the other, and babies tend to favor that side. If that's the issue - and I'd guess that from the larger size - you could try pumping on the right a couple times a day to try to increase the supply on just that side. Does your left side feel like it gets fuller more quickly than the right?
I also would not pump for this reason. I would start pumping once a day around 3 weeks regardless , but I wouldn't pump to stimulate the dud. As long as baby is peeing pooping and gaining, having a dud boob is no big deal.
I've always had a stud and a dud- at first my stud was obviously bigger but eventually they evened out. I tried all the tricks to try and increase production in my dud but it never worked- my stud over compensates :-)
I, too, have a stud and a dud. Sometimes, it shifts a bit and evens out a bit, but usually my left's the stud. I used to try to feed LO from the dud first but it really didn't end up mattering. Try to watch LO and not the clock. I would just offer one side until he releases and then offer the next. If he's not satisfied after the 2nd side, reoffer the first.
