UGH! Need to vent

I've been so annoyed all day that I need to just get this out of my system once and for all... I'm sure some of you may flame me, but whatevs....

I took my 2 year old to see Santa today and we waited in an obscenely long line. While I stood in line, my husband and my DD went to go get us coffees. We had a late night last night and were both exhausted and I'm not afraid of a little caffeine when I'm pregnant. I definitely don't go overboard... I don't even have it every day.

ANYWAY... when my husband came back with the coffees my daughter asked me for a sip. She knows coffee isn't something she's allowed to drink, but I usually let her have a sip or two of mine and she leaves it a that. While we were online, I let her take ONE SIP. The woman who was standing next to me gave me the nastiest look ever so I lied and said IT'S DECAF! Not in a mean way, just kinda like ok lady, don't call CPS on me! And she turned over her shoulder and said in her snippiest voice ever "IT STILL HAS CAFFIENE IN IT".....I don't know how I didn't flip out on her with these hormones, but I wanted to reach over and pull her ugly ponytail right off her head. Who the hell are you!? Do you not give your kid chocolate because I'm pretty sure that has caffeine in it too! I was so appalled that she felt the need to step in and question my parenting over something so stupid. PLEASE LADY... if I got my kid her own double espresso latte, yeah, maybe side eye me. But ONE sip of coffee? Give me an effing break. Ugh. Ok maybe I feel A LITTLE better now. Remind me never to be that mom that thinks I can do it better than everyone else!

I would have flipped on that woman! I can not stand nosy strangers!! Who cares if you give your kid a drink of a coffee, for all she knows it's hot chocolate! If you were letting her dip your beer sure say something but coffee??! No!
I've had many run ins with strangers overstepping their boundaries and I put them in their place quicker than I can blink.
My mom is a private nanny and we're very close with the family. I had the 3 year old out shopping with me one day and an older lady heard him call me by my name and says "it's such a shame you young moms having kids and they don't even know you by mommy" it caught me so off guard! But I bet that lady won't be butting into anyone else's business anytime soon!

It is ridiculous right?! It's not just me? I had no idea this happened in real life! I can't believe anyone would be that bold to say that to someone. I wish there was a way to convey her face when she said it on here too... So many things were going through my mind... Like how I'm more concerned with the non-organic milk in the coffee than I am with the caffeine and she needs to get the stick out of her ass.

OK you guys are making me feel a little better. I have no idea how I kept it all together and I'm kinda mad at myself for even making up the decaf excuse. I usually have no filter and just let it all spew out. The whole way home I was like "I SHOULDA SAID... this!" I really wanted to get back in line after we walked around the Christmas display and be like SORRY! She just needed that cigarette... she was getting so shaky. It's probably the hangover!

I completely respect your restraint. I'm so sorry that you had to experience this, waiting for Santa of all things. I seriously feel like I would of been the pregnant woman in jail for throat punching her. I went shopping at our local mall today and I had little to no filter or patience for stupid people. My best friend that was with me just giggled and whispered,"anger management." Then she corrected herself and said, "I know it's the hormones." (She's been there, done that as a mom). I don't know why people have the audacity to comment on shiz that doesn't involve them personally.

My grandparents use to let me have my own small thing of coffee to dip my graham crackers in

my grandma got me a cup that said "little dipper" and my grandpa's said "big dipper" that lady has anger problems. I would have def said something to her but in a nice way. Sorry you had that hsppen...people are just rude.

Lucky for her she didn't run across me cause oh boy I would of let her have it. I hate people that do this kind of shit they give you dirty looks when your kid is crying ect. I instantly say in the most nasty way as possible WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LOOKING AT ??? I can't believe that is a real life story. She needs to mind her own business! You're right about chocolate having caffeine too, that's what I was thinking as I read this. I am pissed off for you, I would have let her have it. I also don't like how she said that in front of your daughter, she's probably all confused.

I've had this happen at McDonald's. No, not the most nutritionally sound... But Jeeze sometimes a gal likes a treat. I don't eat it every day for goodness sakes.

I was about 35 weeks with my second and a lady told me I was going to have an unhealthy baby and I was making poor choices. (Yeah she was eating there too...)

So I shoved my Big Mac in my mouth in front of her and licked up the sauce. Nothing more to be said!

How rude! People should mind their own business. There have been occasions when my H has given DD a tiny (like a drop) sip of his beer but it's mostly at social events with our friends and he never gives her more than a drop. The funniest story I have is when I took my adopted brother (he was 11 and I was 26) to the movies. There were two old ladies behind us as they kept whispering loudly to each other. I whispered to my brother that we should pretend he was my son and started hamming it up. The look of disgust and shock on their faces was priceless!

When I was a kiddo, my mom would pour me the bottom of her pot into a glass of milk; I don't know HOW old I was when she started that... I honestly can't remember NOT getting it. I turned out just fine and healthy, tyvm.

You're a great mom, you'll be fine, your kid'll be fine, seriously all this policing of how parenting is done nowadays is ridiculous. Can't wait to see the looks on people's faces when my kiddo's out with me during school hours (I'm planning on homeschooling)!!

My sister used to dip her finger in her beer and give it to my daughter when she fussed with her teeth. I mean it happened twice in one sitting. It was mainly foam... So tell her to shove it bc honestly this could be perceived as much worse lol

If have thrown the coffee in her face and asked if she could taste the caffeine. When I was little and had ADHD that made me a Tasmanian devil my mom used to give me coffee and it would calm me down.
Sorry you had to deal with that.
