Do you buy a holiday gift for your boss? About how much do you spend? What do you buy? What's your relationship with him/her like?

    Yes I do Starbucks coffee beans. Always one pkg of the Christmas blend and one of a dark roast they like. Sometimes a pair of new travel mugs. I usually spend between $35-50. This year will be on the lower end since I have a second mortgage called daycare.

    I usually make my boss an IOU package.  Things like I will bring him coffee and a bagel in the morning, or I'll get take out for lunch or make goodies at home and bring them in.  He tears off the coupon throughout the year and redeems them.  It works great because the $ is spread out and he can use them when he feels like it.

    LOL, I usually get him a $20 GC to our local grocery co-op, because he loves it and does all his shopping there. He usually gets me a $20 GC to something, a couple of years it was to our town's downtown merchant group. Last year, he gave me a $15 GC to BRU after I got back from maternity leave in early December, then didn't get me anything else, so I didn't get him anything. I have basically no personal relationship with him. This year, I am hoping to resign within the next couple of weeks, so that will be super hawkward...

    Yes, my boss has 3 other direct reports other than me. The 4 of us are contributing $25 each for a GC to the spa she goes to for her hair, mani/pedi and massages.

    I was on mat leave last year over Christmas and it was our first Christmas with that boss (since they demoted my cray cray other one). We did all pitch in for her bday and boss day, but who knows about Christmas. She has 10-15 of us under her. We usually do a potluck at our monthly staff meeting around holidays.
