FTM expecting twins June 2015

HI Ladies, my husband and I were shocked to find out that we were randomly expecting twins! Now that the shock has worn off we are very excited. I am 13 weeks today and I feel absolutely terrible, I can't sleep through the night and I am so so so nauseous. I'm just wondering for any previous twin mammas when and if they started feeling relief in the second trimester? I need some hope.

Re: FTM expecting twins June 2015

  • Congrats! I didn't get relief until 17 weeks. Zofran saved me!

  • I had horrible morning sickness for 4 months. Had trouble eating, almost everything made me sick, I would be able to keep down fruits and juices but couldn't handle eating anything with spices, meats or anything fried etc. I bought ginger candy from natural store they did help a bit. But it does pass, morning sickness is usually worse with twins (more hormones). Goodluck!!!
  • Congrats! We were also shocked at the news of expecting twins! :) I'm 25 weeks along and had horrible nausea and fatigue for 4 months or so. I remember wanting to vomit just to get relief....but never did, just 24/7 nausea. Ugh! I remember drinking lots of water (gallon a day) and snacking often kept me from feeling really bad. I'd snack on trail mix, fruit, cereal, really whatever I was craving at the time.
  • Thanks for the responses ladies. I vomit a few times a day but I'm also the kind of person who doesn't deal with being sick very well. I am on Diclectin from my doctor and it does take the edge off a bit. I have to remember to eat even if I don't feel like it because it does help me feel better. 4 months seems to be the magic month!
  • Congratulations!! I was horribly sick until week 16. Zofran 8mg 3x/day & phenergren at night saved me!

  • Congrats! I'm 16 weeks 4 days and my nausea sloooowly stared subsiding about 2 weeks ago. Nausea incidents became fewer and farther between and now I haven't been nauseas in a week. I'm still super sensitive to smells though and I'm exhausted all the time. I also got my taste for coffee back about a week ago! :)

  • I drank gallons of Kool Aid (which I hadn't had since I was 5, but that was what I was craving. Can't stand it now). And watermelon. I would actually wake up in the middle of the night and want watermelon. It helped with the heartburn, too. Congratulations - ours were a surprise, too, and that was a rough few weeks of adjusting to the idea, but we started feeling excited around week 13, too!

  • I didn't have too much n/v. Some nausea, but I took a lot of B vitamins. B6 and Royal Jelly everyday from the get go, also gummy prenatals. My nausea came up when I ran out of the supplements. Also tons of water and eating.... Congrats! And good luck :-)

Congrats! My MS didn't go away until about 24 weeks, but then acid reflux was really bad and I still got sick about once per week after that point. Lemonade, coke, & crackers seemed to help my nausea (a little).

Edited: I did take zofran it helped :-)
