Upcoming trip: weaning question

My DD is 14 months. Our nursing journey had a rocky start but has been smooth sailing since about this time last year. We are down to no more than 3 sessions per day. It varies depending on weekends and my work schedule.
My husband and I are going away for two nights in 2 weeks.
I'm not sure what to do. I haven't pumped since July. I am not wanting to do that unless it's a have to.
If I don't nurse for about a day and a half will my milk supply still be available when I return if she still wants it?
Is this a good time to wean?
Should I take a hand pump along for atleast one short pumping?
She takes a sippy of whole milk when I'm away with no problem.
Thanks for your help!!

Re: Upcoming trip: weaning question

  • Thanks you^ I feel sure she's going to do the same when I walk through door as well. My goal was to make it through cold and flu season, then DH came home with a surprise trip.

  • I would take the hand pump purely for comfort reasons (pump and dump if needed) so you can really enjoy your trip and not risk being uncomfortably engorged.  Like PP said, I've seen several other posts in the past from moms of toddlers who took trips and their LOs went right back to nursing.
