Re: **IF Check In**

  • Hi ladies...sorry I missed last week, I was in the mountains for Thanksgiving with DH and his fam.

((Hugs)) to anyone that needs them.

AFM: AF showed on Thanksgiving day so I started estrace the next day...I have an US a week from tomorrow and will go from there with my FET...can anyone give me a time frame for a FET so I can know a timeframe to expect my transfer?  praying for a beautiful lining next week.

I went to a new support group last night that I do think will be really helpful....apparently you are supposed to slowly move on once you get pregnant...over half of the girls there were KU which made me want to cry at first...I hate that that makes me upset...esp. because they obviously have had a difficult journey and I need to remember that...I just was expecting a few more people to be in the "oh shit...this may never happen for me" state of mind.  does that make sense???  the leader (an older lady that adopted when she was in our shoes) said that for over a year none of them got KU so this was actually very unusual.  anyway...all of this rambling to say I'm glad I went and I do think it will be helpful.

    Lilypie Angel and Memorial tickers

8/12-Suprise BFP- Sweet Bunny Born Sleeping 11/21/12 (19 weeks)

    -5/7/13- MMC (8 Weeks)

11/6/13- BO discovered at 7 weeks- natural MC 11/25/13

8/14- Surpise IF dx...low AMH (.24)- moving on to IVF

    IVF #1- 11/14- 6R5M4F=2 perfect frosties

12/19/14- FET of 2 embabies = BFP!!!  One Little Bean EDD: 9/3/15

    Everyone Welcome.

  • @megrae12- Thanks for running the check in.  How are you?
@bunnybun4-  Good luck on your ultrasound.  I don't have any advise on FET.  You support group sounds nice, but I can see where it would be difficult to be in a group with women KU'd.  That would be difficult for me too.

AFM- Nothing too much going on.  I am trying to get motivated to go Christmas shopping.  I am thinking about learning how to knit, but I don't know the first thing about knitting.  I am going to stop by a craft store this weekend and get a book and knitting supplies.  What is better to try, knitting or crocheting?

Hi @megrae12 thanks for the check in. How are you?

@bunnybun4 I hope you like the new support group. That would have thrown me too (((hugs)))

AFM After an estrogen patch (which is still on) and 3 Ganirelix shots last week, I want for bloodwork and us on Monday and all looked good this time! I started Menopur and follistim Monday night and have my first monitoring tomorrow morning. I'm not sure if it's the meds or I'm getting sick but I feel like crap today. I'm achy and just tired. Really hope I'm not getting sick. I'm so worried something will cancel my cycle. Right now I'm off to acupuncture, I get to go twice this week. I'm a pin cushion!

Eta QOTW oops! I haven't even started shopping yet. I don't have ideas either :/

Hi ladies. Thanks for the check-in @megrae12‌. Sorry that I missed last week.

I went to our IVF consult last week, nothing new to discuss. Before starting at our current clinic though, we're seeking another opinion. I'm not going to discuss the specifics on the board, so I'm sorry for being vague. I've been at that clinic for 3 years and I dont want to say anything negative about them.
Needless to say, I was overwhelmed and emotional but feeling better. We're ntnp this month

@bunnybun4‌ other than the initial shock off all the pregnancies, I'm glad that you found it helpful

@Rocks526‌ good for you, trying something new!

@Km380‌ good luck at your monitoring appt!

    4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012)

  • @megrae12, thanks for the check-in.  How are things going with you?

@bunnybun4 hoping for a beautiful lining next week!  I hope the new support group works out for you.

@rocks526 I've always wanted to try knitting but never quite had the patience to learn it.

@km380 you really are a human pincushion!  Glad acupuncture seems to be working out for you.  I don't know anything about the timing of a FET but I'm wishing you luck.

@rachaeleigh I always agree with getting a second opinion.  Hope you find the clinic that's right for you.

I had my first monitoring ultrasound Monday am and had 15 mm, 12 mm and 10 mm follies on the left.  Had a repeat ultrasound today and follies are now 21 mm, 18 mm and 15 mm.  Better growth than I was expecting in that time period, but still seem small compared to other people undergoing IUI?

So I'm supposed to trigger tonight.  My RE had originally said Ovidrel but Walgreens specialty pharmacy sent me Novarel 10,000 U.  Same thing I guess.  Is it weird I'm having a glass of wine before getting ready to give myself the trigger shot?  Last glass this cycle :)  We're planning for IUI Friday.

Do you guys always test out the trigger?

Sorry for all the questions, last two cycles we just did Clomid + TI so this is all a little new.

QOTW:  I'm about half-way through my Christmas shopping.  But, since I took a vacation day to take my boards today I spent the rest of the day decorating the rest of the house for Christmas.  So now I'm listening to Christmas music, having a glass of wine, and getting ready to stab myself in the stomach with hcg... Got to love the holidays :)

  • Hiya ladies.

@megrae12‌ thanks for running the show ;)

@bunnybun4‌ for my three FETs the timing went as such:
FET #1: 2 weeks estrace. Then they added progesterone 5days while continuing the entrance; FET came on day 6 of progesterone. Then continued meds until beta 10 days later.
FET #2 &#3: the only thing that changed was I did 3 weeks of estrace before starting the progesterone.

    FX for you! Good luck.

@Km380‌ I was sick durning stimms and still ended up with 46 eggs retrieved. Just stay away from sudafed those were my doctors orders for me.

@nikiswimr‌ good luck! And I feel it is always a good idea to test out your trigger, just so you don't second guess the test results!

I'm hanging in there. I'm trying not to dwell.

  • Hey ladies!  I'm sorry I can't respond personally to everyone this week...I'm so tired :(

AFM:  Still no AF and I have officially started to freak the fuck out.  Sunday 12/7 will be the 2 week since the last provera pill and I'm super worried AF isn't going to arrive by then.  I am almost positive that my surgery will have to be postponed if I don't get it.  Why is IF one freaking blow after another?  Please excuse my negativity!!  Hopefully it's PMS!

  • @nikiswimr‌ I think those sound good for folly size. I didn't test out my trigger for either IUI but I also absolutely did not test until the day before beta to be sure I wouldn't get a false pos.

  • Hey ladie,s
I'm feeling so much better thanks for asking.  Last week was horrible and I'm so glad it's over.  Between being sick, not going home for Thanksgiving, and everything else it's been rough.
My RE appointment is next week and DH and I are trying to figure out what we want to do before we get there.  I'm pretty certain the doctor is going to want me to have a lap because he thinks I have endo.  If that is the case we'll do that, maybe take a month off, then go for either IUI or IVF in Feb/Mar.   That's the plan right now, but it might change after my appointmnet.

@bunnybun4 Good luck at your ultrasound and this FET cycle!
@KM380 FX that you are not getting sick and it's just the meds.  Good luck at your monitoring appointment.
@rachaeleigh I hope your second opinion goes well.
@nikiswimr Your follicles are bigger then mine were when I triggered for IUI.  As soon as I had a lead follicle hit 18mm I triggered.  I didn't test out my trigger the first 2 IUI's but I did the 3rd IUI.
    ((((@frenchteachermama))))

  • @nikiswimr‌ I think those sound like good follies sizes. I always have tested out my trigger. Sometimes I still got squinters at 10dpo

@nikiswimr I use Novarel and it's the same as Ovidrel. I tested out my trigger for my first cycle b/c I wanted to see how long it stays in my system. Just know it's kind of a MF as far as seeing the positive test. So as long as you can handle that, go for it. You follie size is pretty good. FX for a smooth IUI on Friday!!

@Frenchteachermama Oh sweetie, I am so sorry AF has not shown yet. Do you think it could be b/c of your stress from everything? I dunno, I have never used Provera. I hope she shows soon, I know that is so frustrating. ((Hugs)) I am thinking about you.

    Hey ladie,s

@king26 ((Hugs)) I am glad you are better this week. I know last week was very hard on you. I hope your appointment goes well. Why does your doc think you have endo? If you need info on the lap, I have had two. I feel like a veritable expert on them, lol. I hope you do not have endo and will not need surgery. Keep us updated!

  • Ok, now it's time to update on me. I am in my 2ww with horrible timing. Doesn't matter, I O'd on my own, which is celebration worthy!! Aside from overly sensitive BBs, I have zero symptoms and I do not really plan to test unless AF is late.

On another note, Ripley is settling in nicely. She is a hot mess and we love her completely. She has a few bad habits that need to be broken and then we will all be much happier. I am going home next week for my sister's pinning ceremony. She is graduating from LPN and starting RN school. I think I am going to bring Ripley with me, see how she travels. It should be interesting!!

QOTW: I have not even really started Christmas shopping. I honestly hate shopping and the crowds do nothing for my people skills. Also, I have no idea what to get H for Christmas this year. Sigh*

We just started this spring. We got some honey. It was a small hive and dh wanted to leave the bulk  of it for the bees this winter. It is fascinating to watch the hive. I am actually petrified of the whole thing. Which is amazing that I find myself drawn to the hive and watch the bees come and go. DH has mad some chapstick with the wax and honey, it was nice.

  • Hi ladies. If you don't mind having another person, could I officially join the group? Background: myself 30, DH 34. We started trying July 2013. I started charting, temping October 2013. We managed to get pregnant on our 11th cycle, but that was our BO discovered at 9 wks. We are trying "on our own" for a few cycles, but we just had our initial RE appointment yesterday, which is why I waited to check in until today. As of now, we have only done cd3, 7 dpo BW. From those results my RE said my TSH level of 3.25 was a but inflated, so we are rerunning that and he might put me on something (btw the OB that ran this said the results were normal. Also, he is concerned since I have very light, 1-2 day periods since getting off bcp. He said that may be indicative of thin lining (I asked this exact question to both OBs in the last year and neither said it was abnormal). So I'll be going in for an US when I'm ovulating, which is hopefully sometime in the next few days. If this is the case, he would have me on a drug to thicken it up. He is also ordering up a SA and HSG for me next cycle. Well, an HSG would be out of the office, so their other option is something called Femvue?? It sounds like a saline option. They said both show the uterine shape and whether the tubes are blocked (anyone have any experience with this Femvue option??). DH is pretty worried that there is something wring with his sperm. I think the reality of the test is heavy for him. That should be happening in the next week or so after I O. After all the testing, we will assess possible treatments. I was really happy with the meeting and the items he identified. I'm so glad to have made the plunge with the RE, especially given his lining concerns. Clomid could have seriously f'ed that up quickly. I'm bummed the timing works out that the HSG is pushed to next cycle, so we will probably not have a game plan until Feb, which will coincide with my EDD. At least it's a start though. Anyway, that is my story as we wade into the IF testing waters. Looking forward to getting to know you all more. Thanks!
@LDubHawksFan Hey love! Welcome! I am glad you are happy with your RE and his plan for you. Don't feel bad about waiting for everything to come together. I went to my RE in May, had to go on Metformin for a month, then do my HSG, then in July, finally got the SA and the "real" plan moving forward. It's a lot of hurry up and wait. It sucks. As far as the SA goes, my H was nervous about it too. I can only say that I hope it comes back great, but if it doesn't there is help out there for him. Your RE will have a plan either way and all I can say is don't count your chickens before they hatch. Cliche and whatnot, but it works.

  • @LDubHawksFan‌ I'm new in here too. Just want to chime in on the thyroid number - from what I've been told about mine that number could be considered "normal" but while ttc my RE wants mine below 2. If I get pg he will increase my meds and check my levels frequently. "Normal" is also a range, what is a good number for me is not the number for someone else. Hope that is helpful.

@LDubHawksFan‌ good luck with the testing! I had a regular HSG, my understanding with the saline option is less radiation, less risk from contrast, maybe more anatomic data? I think @rslh10‌ had one? My RE also wanted my TSH < 2 although higher technically in the normal range.

@Rocks526 I am ok, thanks for asking!! I know jack crap about knitting although I have been toying with learning. I know how to crochet, kinda. I learned when I was young and picked it  back up again a few years ago. I am not good at it all, but I like it. I think it's easier than knitting, but that is just me.

I may have some questions for you after my appointment!   They think I have endo because I have chronic cysts on my ovaries, a shadow behind my uterus, have extremely painful periods, and often times sex hurts too.  He says all of that points to me having endo, especially the cysts and the shadows behind my uterus.  I'm fairly certain he's going to tell me I have to have a lap before going forward.   My other RE thought I might have endo as well, but he said since we were doing iVF it didn't really matter.  However, if I can get a lap, get rid of the endo, and have a fighting chance with IUI's I'd rather do that since my insurance will cover unlimited IUI's.

  • @frenchteachermama yay for AF! GL at pre-op and with the surgery.

I had my IUI yesterday so I am 3dpt, 1dpiui.  First 2ww since my loss.  Not terribly optimistic for this cycle but doing something seems better than doing nothing.  DH got really freaked out about this cycle.  He basically feels so much pressure since it's our first AL.  I actually hadn't realized the loss had affected him that way (he holds it all inside).

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  We're doing brunch today, putting Christmas lights on the house, then tomorrow we're going to see the trans-siberian orchestra play :)
