thawing breast milk question

I thawed 2 oz of breast milk and can't find consistent (non confusing) guidelines on if I can store it. We thawed it in warm water and Brooke drank about .5 ounces. Can I save the rest in the refrigerator or is it garbage?

Sidenote...thawed doesn't seem like a word now...odd.

Re: thawing breast milk question

  • Was the remaining 1.5 oz in the bottle you fed her from? If so it needs to be tossed within the hour. If not I believe it's good for 24 hours in the fridge as long as you didn't warm it.

This. Also I personally do a smell test if LOs next feeding is a little more than an hour away and will still use it. Liquid gold, man.
