We joined My Gym - mainly so little dude can interact with other babies and tumble around with my help. Anyone else have experience with this? Thoughts on good activities to do outside the home with a 6 month old?
DD gets enough interaction at DC. I went to a free Gymboree class when she was 3 months old. I cant' do it. It wasn't for me - the parents, the people that worked there - maybe its just the area I live in, but they were super "helicopter"-like - does that make sense?
Anyways, other ideas if you need interaction would be your local library or county programs? I know there are a few programs at our library for babies 2x a week and we just signed DD up for Baby & Me Swim class.

It makes sense. Parents are pretty cool at this one, thankfully. But I like your suggestions, thank you!!!
We do a baby program at the library once a week. It's 30 mins of interactive songs and books with the baby and then free play time. I really love it and DS gets a lot of socialization from the play time
Gymboree is kind of a creepy clown cult. Around here the park district has a popular music class, and I know other moms who love The Little Gym, but we don't have one here. Our library also does a couple different story times, which is awesome because free.

We do Kindermusik and will start Little Gym at 10 months. Not for any real reason, just that we need a Saturday morning class and that's the age group scheduled.
I do Gymboree with DD and we love it. Clowns aren't my thing, but she friggin loves Gymbo. Lol. And our teacher is really sweet. I don't get the "helicopter/cult" vibe at all. Haha. Unless I'm one of those moms and just don't know it....

I just signed up for baby and me swim lessons for the winter. They are for babies 3-12 months. I figure it's good to get him active but more for me to get out of the house this winter.
I did Gymboree for a few months. I liked it becaus I could get out of the house and I liked her being around other babies. Couldn't stand the singing especially because the one girl did so,e kind of opera type singing. Made things awkward
