Sunken Soft Spot

I took DS to the mall today and we were walking around and doing a little shopping. I was so proud of myself because we nursed in public twice (for the first time!) and he was calm.

After I tried on clothes and cried at the numbers on the tags, we started walking towards the exit. I noticed that the soft spot towards the front of his head was sunken in. I immediately called the nurses line and explained everything. He was fussy yesterday, fine today, has had 8 wet diapers already, and is nursing fine. She said she would defer to the doctor and if nobody called me by 4:30 to call them back.

I'm freaking the f out. Everything on Google points to dehydration, but he's not showing any signs of dehydration at all. Does anyone have any experience at all with this? Any thoughts? I still have an hour and a half before I'm supposed to call if they don't.
