How do you put on your bra? (sorta GTKY, sorta just weird)

While in a dressing room with a friend (she had to unzip the back of my dress), I put my bra back on. She stared at me like I had two heads. Apparently I am weird for the way I put my bra on: turn it around, lay it flat against my stomach, fasten it, spin it around and pull it up/put straps over shoulder. I have been putting on a bra this way since I was twelve.

Seriously, is it that weird?

I honestly do it the same way you do lol. So if that's weird then I'm weird.

ETA: I do under the boobs too instead of stomach

  • I knew it couldn't be that weird! I had super short arms so fastening in the back is just not an option with my massive boobs.

  • Judging by this, I think you need to tell your friend she is the weird one. LOL

  • LOL I do the same thing as you. Just tell your friend the storybook birds that dress you took the day off ;)

  • I put my bra on just like that. It's impossiblr any other way. I'm 4ft 10 with D cups, there's no way I could reach my arms back there.

  • We actually just had this exact poll on my old BMB. The results were very split. So I think both ways are pretty normal.
    Baby #1: Nixson Thomas - Born 3/11/14 @ 4:32pm, 7lbs 10oz, 21.5"
    Baby #2: Emma Haley - Born 7/2/15 @ 7:09am, 7lbs 9 oz, 21"
Baby #3: TTC (hoping for a due date of spring / summer 2017)
  • I bend over at the waist, let my boobs fall into the cups, and fasten the bra in the back. After it's fastened, I "scoop and swoop" to collect any breast tissue that didn't make its way into the cups.
    image
  • I fasten in the front then turn it around. Trying to figure it out behind me is waaayyy too much work haha
  • I put it on the way it is worn then reach around and fasten it behind me... and i am busty ;)

My mom does it the way you do it so you aren't weird lol... to each their own!

  • Oo I do it weird!! Different weird though.  I put my arms through the straps and boobs vaguely in the cups then pull the fastener parts around to my front and buckle the first clasp, then unfasten it so my hands are in the perfect position to refasten it behind my back.  This is difficult to explain but trust me it is awesome.

  • I do it the way OP does it. You ladies who fasten it at the back must be way more flexible than I am! Or have longer arms lol.

  • Im no hero, I put my bra on one boob at a time!

no seriously though, I put in on with the cups in the front, fasten in the back , and then i give myself a tuck and a fondle to make sure I'm all in.   I have definitely heard of people fastening in the front, its not weird at all.
  • I fasten in the back.

Yes. Yes. You are a freak. Unless you are part T-Rex, I judge you for not fastening behind your back.

I have never thought to try this!! I fasten at the front then spin it around
It probably stretches it out more than the other way, but that's what I've been doing forever!

  • I do it the same as @SepiaMoon‌ fasten it and put it over my head my like a shirt. Then I adjust my boobs.

  • I've never heard of or seen anyone doing what you describe, so I probably would have side-eyed you too! I do the normal boobs, arms, fasten in back as they were intended. I never really thought about it but it does take some degree of flexibility I guess!
  • I have long gorilla arms and I STILL fasten it under my boobs and spin it around afterwards.

  • I sort of wish we could find a way to time this and see what's best. I've always fastened in front. It never occurred to me that there were so many options.

If you can successfully put your bra on this way, I am 99% certain you are wearing the wrong band size. A properly fitting bra band will NOT be loose enough to do this.

  • I have a follow up question....do you take it off the same way you put it on? Even though I'm in the fasten-in-front camp for putting it on. I reach around the back to undo it and slide it off my arms.
  • Put it on the way it's supposed to go, then fasten it /:)

That is what I do. No spinning and monkey business lol.

I have long arms so I put my arms through the straps, then I lay it across the top of my chest, fasten the back then pull it down over my boobs.  Then I scoop them up for extra cleavage.

My husband actually finds this process fascinating.  He doesn't get the adjusting afterwards but I tell him, he adjusts for comfort so its kinda the same thing.

Maybe so. I've never been fitted. I'm barely a B-cup until my recent preggers growth spurt. My small(er) boobs may have something to do with this method working.

@SepiaMoon‌ You can do your own fitting at home! All you need is a measuring tape and this bra size calculator: https://www.brasizecalculator.tk/home.html :)
