Pedialyte popsicles?

Can you give these to infants? DD has the stomach flu. We were at the doctor on Saturday and he said not to give pedialyte because it's better for her to drink formula...just in smaller quantities more frequently. He said to offer her 3 ounce bottles. Well, for the past 3 days, she's only drinking like 1.5 ounces of those 3 ounces and is only taking in at most 16 ounces/day (instead of her usual 24). I don't want to give her the liquid pedialyte since the doctor said not to, but I also don't want her dehydrating. Are the pedialyte popsicles an option for this age?

Re: Pedialyte popsicles?

  • My pedi recommended the popsicles when my DD was sick.

  • Pedi recommended them when DS began teething about a month ago...I never used them b/c I felt he was too young at the time...
  • I gave them to Evan.  Just cut them in half and kinda mushed them alittle to make them more of a slushy.  He liked them.  I was desperate though to get anything down him because he wasnt taking anything.

    Poor Hayden...hope she feels better.

Also, can you try just water??

  • I've tried water and juice. She doesn't really want anything passing her lips! She even flung her solids at me (and she's usually a champ eater).

  • When DS was at the Children's Hospital ER a few months ago they gave them to him while we were there and sent us home with some to give DS while at home.
