Flu vs. food poisoning

I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and have had the worst stomach bug since Tuesday. I threw up a few times on Tuesday, had the worst acid reflex all week and have had zero appetite. Doctor thinks it's either food poisoning or the flu but can't be sure. I only had body aches on Tuesday so I'm not sure it's the flu but I didn't think that food posioning lasted this long. Sorry for the long post, I just hate not knowing what's going on with my body.

    I am sorry you are not feeling well. The flu seldom has vomiting. It is more fever, chills, body aches and congestion/cough. Make sure you stay hydrated (I am sure you know that already). When I am not feeling well Pedialyte is always a lifesaver! It tastes pretty bad, but it will do your body good. Good luck and I hope you feel better very soon!!!

    like @sahara6971 said, flu rarely comes with GI symptoms (see here). Did your doc test you? If you have the flu (influenza, not the "stomach flu" which is not a real thing) then taking antivirals, especially since you're pregnant, is really important.

    Either way, hope you feel better soon!

    It's just gastroenteritis. Sorry to be a stickler about it, but I work at a Health Department, and people saying "the flu" is going around their daycare or workplace, and meaning a stomach bug, is totally different than influenza, which is primarily a respiratory illness.
