what are you getting you H/SO for Christmas/holidays?

My H is super hard to shop for. He, like myself goes and buys what he/I want. So it makes it super hard. MH is outdoorsy and he loves flying these big remote airplanes so I have stuck to clothes and a giant remote airplane he has had his eye on; but there has to be more! I may put together a crate full of zombiapocolypse survival kinda gear. Such as:
Machetes
Knives
Military quick meals
Clean underwear
Survival guide
Rope
Carabiners
Wound care items
Etc..
I saw the idea on a site that sells kitschy kind of crates for men and I want to make one that is A LOT better.....

So dish.... What is everyone doing?

Legos!! (duh!) Mostly little tiny sets this year as stocking stuffers though. Not the usual huge set I give him on other years. Other stocking stuffers are a single serving keurig compatible travel mug and a coffee mug that says "Coal" on it. I don't know, he pointed it out so I had to get it for him!
But really, we are actually getting exercise equipment for each other this year because we kind of came to the conclusion that experiences are more important than stuff at this point in our lives. And being healthier can only help those experiences actually happen.
I am giving him an adjustable weight dumbbell set and I think I am getting a bike trainer so I can use my bike indoors as an exercise bike.
I am also giving him these t-shirts.

@heartbot‌ seriously right? I loved the themes on the site I just want to up the ante a bit. I thought they were a little pricey for what you get .... So I am determined to load MH's full of amaze ball stuff!

heartbot congrats to your H that is awesome.

I have no idea what to get H. I always get something we can do together and then some stuff for him. He is very picky about his stuff so it makes shopping for him difficult. I usually do things like a local brewery tour and tasing but I am running out of new ideas.

I got MH a new pair of boots and some comic books. Have to get him a few more things. We usually don't go big for each other on Christmas, we like to go big for our immediate family instead. Plus both of our birthdays are in dec. so we have to spend carefully.

MH and I usually don't buy each other gifts per say, but we have started a tradition the weekend before Christmas (sometimes the weekend after). We hit up the mall, have a few cocktails and shop for each other with each other. I usually end up getting fancy new purse and he usually gets a new football jersey.

I'm thinking that I can find ways to make the stocking special. It may be a humble way of celebrating the season, but that's okay. I keep thinking about the abject poverty my dad survived in the Great Depression, and the general austerity of the 30s and 40s, and I feel like maybe we can do a lot with a little.

I'm glad my Mom is good at being Santa because DH and I suck at it. Actually, he sucks at it and I just don't give a shit this year. He told me to go buy whatever I want for myself and put it under the tree. Which really takes the fun out of it. So he's getting new underwear and undershirts! I'm trying really hard to think of a constructive answer to help you lades out, but I got nothin this morning.

Dh and I are moving into our first house in Jan so I bought this spa shower head thing that has 36 settings because whenever we watch home improvement shows he's in love with cool showers. I got it on groupon for $36! So he's also getting cards against humanity (thank you ladies for introducing me to that - sounds right up our alley) and the new Stephen King book because thats tradition.

DH wants a Yeti cooler for Christmas. Its like $100 to have it shipped, so I'm just going to have to buy it, bring it home, and say "Here, Merry Christmas." Boring.

Still trying to think of something to surprise him with.

@petrastonegirl *hug* I have had many Christmas's where there just wasn't enough to get presents. I find that making something is good, and can be a lot of fun! I am not crafty AT ALL but he seems to love my hommade Christmas cards with stick figures and horrible drawings in them. Another thing I've done in the past that went over well is make a coupon booklet with a bunch of things I know he would like. Things like a massage by me, a cooked meal with whatever he wants (which is big because I hate cooking), a get out of free jail card if he does some stupid ass thing that pisses me off..things like that. Seems a bit childish to some but I had so much fun with it and you can make it your own

I am having some anxiety about this. Not only is it Christmas but it's his bday in 8 days and I have done nothing :-SS

He is way too easy to shop for so it's hard for me to decide what to get him. He likes old Gulf as station type things so I am thinking about getting him some signs and pictures. Probably something for his truck, maybe the exhaust he's looking at or the programmer for his engine that will make it go faster. I got him airhorns for it last year and he loved it!

Our anniversary is Jan 4th too and I just bought NHL Winter Classic tickets for up in DC since that's his home state and the Caps are his hockey team. A bit pricey so maybe I will scale down the bday and christmas stuff.

Oh, and I am getting him that lego t shirt as well
