Welcome to the Been There, Done That Check-in!!! Check-ins will be every Tuesday. Your check-in leaders are @Carol77B and @Justone13.

This is check-in is for anyone who is past their 2nd IVF cycle (including any FETs) or if you have suffered multiple losses. If you haven’t made it to your ER but have done two cycles this place would be great for you!! After multiple failed cycles we aren’t as chipper and full of sunshine like we were during our first cycle. This group is intended to give us a safe place where we can vent, update, obtain info and bond with other veteran IVFers. If you are currently cycling or waiting on a cycle this group would be a great place for you! You are more than welcome to join the monthly group if you are currently cycling and if you are hanging onto a dream feel free to stay with that group also and can always post here too! Any questions or concerns just ask!!

Hey All!! Sorry for the late check in I had a terrible headache this morning and went back to bed since I'm on evenings tonight. I can't get over how many of us are graduating!! That really makes me so freaking happy! I'm keeping my fx for you ladies winding down in your TWW @cwoodward777 & @carol77B.

AFM: I am almost there... I start my PIO shots on the 4th with my FET scheduled for Dec 9th. Its happening!!! OMG!! I talked to my RE on Sunday night when he called (I honestly have the best one ever) and I think we are pretty set on just transferring one. My lining is at 14 and he said that was great.

QOTD: Uh the Christmas Story hands down.

AFM: Had immune labs drawn today. Hopefully my labs come back in range as we learned my insurance has denied ivig. I am taking immune meds and start estrogen and lupron for FET prep on 12/9.

I put down my deposit today to officially reserve my spot for the January cycle. Now I'm just waiting for my nurse to send my calendar. If I counted right, I should have my baseline the first week of January, which means that I will have to start pred in just a few weeks. I also have my repeat saline sono next Monday and my endometrial biopsy Tuesday.

QOTD: I like Christmas Vacation, but my husband would definitely vote a Christmas Story.

Hi Ladies!

I hope your migraine is better, @justone13! Congrats to all our grads! It really gives me hope.

I think this has been the worst 2WW of my life! I keep going back and forth between thinking I have symptoms and blaming it on the Endometrin. Since I would rather be PUPO than find out I have a BFN (especially after my initial BFN with my last IVF) I've been holding off. I might otherwise POAS tomorrow (beta is Friday) but have two big meetings and need my head to be in the right place, so my current plan is to test Thursday morning and again before my beta.

If the IUI doesn't work, I plan to get a second opinion for the other large fertility clinic in my area and feel good about having a plan. Plus, since DH's SA dropped pretty dramatically from Oct to Nov (32 mil to 8 mil after rising from 4 mil in March to 46 mil in June) and he reluctantly thinks it might be because he stopped drinking the "tea" my acupuncturist recommended (which he hated and thought was foolish) and has started, again, on his own(!) I would want to wait until at least Feb before cycling again. Since with a BFN I would jump back into my diet and exercise program I might be really skinny by then!!!

QOTW: I love "Love Actually" but "A Christmas Story" is a childhood favorite. My Dad is older and would have been the same age as Ralphie during the time period of the movie AND my Dad did have a Red Rider BB gun so we watched it many times as a family.

@Carol77B‌ What clinic are you looking into? FWIW, Dr. P at SIRM does do phone/skype appts. My follow up appt with him was $50 by phone. Not sure what the initial consult cost. He really, truly was a breath of fresh air in the midst of IVF hell. Plus I feel like he's game for anything I requested.

Hi ladies. I'm happy for all the BFPs and PUPOs.

I'm sad and depressed..... Maybe just feeling sorry for myself. It's hitting me that this week DH and I were supposed to be welcoming two babies into our lives. My EDD was for December 5th. I was really hoping that my FET in October would result in a sticky pregnancy so that my impending EDD wouldn't hurt as bad........... But yeah. That didn't happen so now I'm grieving both. And I feel myself harboring bitterness. I may have to take a long bump break because it is super hard to sit on a bench doing nothing and moving nowhere.

Congrats on the BFPs to @blueeyes233, @Nutmeg8484, @ronniesgirl1981, @RunCC37, and @shelbeans82! Glad to see some of us veterans moving on!

@Justone13—I am super jealous that your RE calls you! That is very unique. Good luck next week!

@hmz819—I see in your siggy you are doing CCS. Which clinic are you using?

@Carol77B—I think it is good to have a plan if it will be a BFN. Helps with the letdown if that’s the case and doesn’t hurt you if you don’t have to use it!

@O2girl—So sorry you are down. What a difficult time.

AFM: Hi everyone! I see many familiar names on this board, and I am glad to have a space to check in with folks here between cycles 3 and 4. As you can see from my siggy, I have had three failed cycles with nothing to freeze. We took the fast track to IVF after DH was diagnosed with low morphology only to find that our embryo quality would be the real challenge. Our current plan is to take a few months off for holidays/vacation/mental sanity and then resume around March with the antagonist protocol (never done that before), adding Metformin for insulin resistance. @ronniesgirl1981‌ I'm looking at Dominion, but it isn't a bad idea to look further out right now, too, thanks for SIRM info. I'm not at the point where I think I can do the travel, but I may get there.

DF does natural cycle IVF and since I keep ending up with so few embryos anyway, it's something I want to look into, since it's so cheap, comparatively. Their SART data looks horrible compared to SGF, but they have to count the NCIVF in the same totals and that has higher rates of cancellation, and they claim (on their website) that most of their patients (including my age group) get a baby by their second IVF, including the NCIVF.

Also, there's an office super close to my work and they do the ER/ET there, too, so it's more convenient than SGF for me. It just seems like it would be a good idea to meet with an RE from there and see how that goes.

@Carol77B‌ That does sound super easy. FWIW, Dr. P said I could do my baseline at SG and he would only want me local towards the end of stims. I walked away thinking it was doable. If you get to that point and want more info, let me know. I have some paperwork from them...not much actually, but some financial stuff and my notes.

Hi ladies,

Congrats to the grads and best of luck everybody who is currently cycling, those on 2ww, and who are getting ready to cycle.

I have finished the stims as of this morning and triggering tonight. My retrieval is scheduled for 10am on Thursday. I have three mature follicles and E2 of 1200, so hopefully we can retrieve and fertilize all three eggs.

The problem is that Dr. KK asked me yesterday not to transfer and do a freeze all cycle instead because my immune numbers are not cooperating. I was so ready mentally to do a transfer. This is a big bummer. My last IVIg (third one) did not work as the previous two, and while my NK numbers were great after the first two, they are now at 19.9 (it has to be less than 15). Plus my cytokines are not coming down as much as we want. Started at 53 and now they are at 40 (must be less than 30).

My worries are twofold: first, I only have three potential eggs from this cycle and one frozen from past April cycle. I just hope that all three can be retrieved, fertilized, and survive to day 5 freeze but what if they do not? What is the likelihood that they all or even just one to survive to day 5?Would not be better to transfer them if they are weak?

Second, I hate my immune system, and do not know what to do. I have done everything I have been asked to do and more. I have had three IVIgs, been on prednisone (on 20mg for the past two weeks and on 10-15mg since early October), have been doing paleo diet, on 30 supplements every day, acupuncture, tart cherry etc. If my numbers are not coming down with all this, will they ever? Can I ever get pregnant?

Well, I think the plan for now is wait until day 2 after retrieval. I will talk to my RE then and if eggs look good, we'll do freeze all. If none or only one look good, I will transfer the weak one(s) and freeze the rest. Maybe my body will accept them. It is wishful thinking but I hate that we need to cancel because of my stupid immune system

@KM721‌ I did ccs testing with CC.RM. I tested 9 blasts and have 6 normals (1 no result)

@zeynsom‌ I'm sorry you are looking at freeze all. I am working with KK too and know how stressful and $$$ it all is. Fx for 3 strong embies!!

Since I'm a moron and was feeling really positive about my symptoms last night, I tested this morning (12 days past IUI) and BFN. I'm trying to tell myself that it could be too early, but it seems my "symptoms" are due to a brewing UTI, since I peed on that test strip this morning too, and DID get a positive for UTI. FML.

Will test again tomorrow and Friday before beta, but may end up in a walk-in clinic for the UTI, and I think I can get them to run the beta, earlier, so I can get stronger antibiotics.

@ronniesgirl1981‌ is Dr P at both the PA and NJ offices? And they do batch cycles? I may be PMing you very soon.

@zenysom I'm sorry that your immune system is not cooperating, that is so stressful having to worry about freezing embryos. Good luck.

@KM721 I'm so glad that you can call this group home for now! You are pretty much in the same boat as me. This was my 4th cycle and first time I had anything to freeze. Are you going to be changing anything in your protocol or adding any supplements? I love my RE I can't say enough how much his constant support has helped me. He calls me when hes off work, on the weekends and at night and even when hes out of state. He is freaking amazing!!! The other Re at the office Ive come -- this close to cursing out lol

@zeynsom GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!! Sending extra prayers for your eggs to be GREAT! Are you using PICSI? You really seem like you are doing everything you possibly can do to make it work. I would see how your embies do. If they aren't looking like they will freeze I would transfer... if they look good I would freeze and wait for a FET. I was extremely concerned that I wouldn't have any to freeze and stressed to my RE that if it wasn't looking good then I was going to transfer. I would ask about starting your Progestrone and estrace just in case. Please update us when you can tomorrow!

@CML11 Good luck with the approval hope you can start next week!

@buttmonkey34 - I'm still waiting for AF too but its CD42 over here. I definitely missed the December window at my clinic now so I'm going to be January FET as well. I actually went back to temping and I don't think I even ovulated yet so I think I have at least another two weeks to go. This is the longest cycle ever!

Congrats to all the BFPs! I'm so excited to see so many veterans moving on.

I went through this a couple weeks ago as I remembered our first little man was supposed to arrive. Its the worst. I remember being so excited that we would have a little one at the holidays and couldn't think of a more perfect gift. Now I can't even bring myself to send x mas cards. Its sad that all we keep doing is sending out a photo of our dog (who we love dearly). Its getting pathetic. I don't even feel like celebrating.

That being said, I had another WTF appt with my RE to talk about upcoming protocol for my new cycle. He is going to switch out the menopur for something...I can't remember. And I have another scheduled HSG in the next weeks depending on when AF decides to show up. I have been thinking about pushing off stimming until february. I could use the extra time to lose a few more lbs before I start packing them on again due to the evil meds. Thats pretty much it. We plan to be on the Cape for new years with a bunch of friends so that should be fun.

Update XP on December Sugar Plums:

AFM: had my first monitoring appointment this morning since baseline on Monday. Making pretty good progress compared to first IVF. Left side has a few 10's already (right side is a tad behind), but all looking good progress wise. I'll go back Saturday.

For me, the most amazing update at this point is that we saw TEN follicles this morning (two are tiny but they are there). That's two more than ever seen before. I seriously chalk this up to all the ISTWE supplements. I know we have a long way to go in growth and maturity, but two more follies gives me hope for the future.

Hi ladies,

Just an update: had my retrieval today and while they were seeing three mature follicles all the way until yesterday on u/s with a few less than 10mm in size, they retrieved five eggs today. I do not know how that is possible and whether the additional two have any chances of fertilization but I take it as good news.

I also talked with Dr. KK today and we have decided to transfer the weak ones on day 3 and keep the strongest ones (if any) for freeze on day 5. With my immune system being as is, she does not give high chances of implantation so we do not want to waste the good embryos and instead want to keep them for when my body is ready. My hope is that all that fertilize look good on day 2 and day 3 so we do not need to transfer just yet.

In other news, I just did my first PIO shot to myself. It was very scary at first but did not hurt once I got it going.

Day 1 fert report: out of five eggs retrieved only 1 was mature and fertilized. Feeling very down right now. Dr. KK wants me to freeze that if we can, given my crappy immune system. Hope that it survives and grows nicely. We'll know tomorrow whether it is a weak one (and whether we had to transfer it on day 3) or whether it is a nicely growing one, in which case we will wait until day 5 and freeze it.

We just got back from the beach a few hours ago and I got the call that we are scheduled for 2:45 on Tuesday!! I can't believe that its happening!! My DH asked when we had to trigger tonight... so much for him paying attention lol... So anyways tomorrow my RE will call and lmk the game plan of what thawed and what we are transferring. This is making me super nervous. I think that my RE scheduled it later in the day so that he can do the transfer himself but I'm not sure. I guess I'll find out tomorrow!! My acupuncture lady said just come in when we are done with the ET so I'm happy that she will accommodate me. Happy thoughts Happy thoughts!!
