Alexis or Alexia?

Long story short my sister and I both love the name Alexis however she thinks she has rights to the name (even though she's done having kids). Would you use the name anyway or use the back up name and spare the relationship?

No one has dibs on a name. If shes done having kids then use whatever name you prefer. It won't affect her in anyway.

If you really love then use it. She has no claim to a name. Out of the Alex girls names my favorite is Alexa.

I have 6 sisters. They are all strong headed ladies. I do also like the name Alexia. I can't decide

I wish it was only big girl panties I need to worry about. My family has a lot of drama and parental medical issues we are all working through emotionally. Just don't know if it's worth adding to the fire if I'm ok with the alternative name. Which is why the poll was started.

I agree with this. If she shut down the system then why does she need the name.

I told SIL I wanted to name my first daughter Isabelle or Isabella. We were pregnant at the same time and I had a boy, she had a girl. her daughter has Isabelle as a middle name but I'm not pissy. I found something else I love.

I like both but if she is going to get that upset about you using Alexis she will probably get upset about Alexia too as it's similar.

I voted Alexis because I don't like Alexia. I did like the Alexa suggestion though, if you feel too weird using Alexis.

I would use the name you truly love regardless of who is going to get mad. You only get one shot at naming your kid.

I voted Alexis because that's my name :-), however I've always wanted my name to be different since it seems to be fairly popular in my age group. I love the name Alexandra :-)

I'd also go Alexa, mainly cuz I've known some pretty great girls with that name.
