I had just a four week check up today and am at 17 weeks! We could hear the baby moving and the heart rate was 158! The exciting news is we will have our anatomy scan on the 23rd and my DH and I will open up the sex on Christmas morning with my family. I told the scheduler that she made my day getting us in before Christmas! Can't wait!
What was your appointment for? Normal check-up at 15w4d
How did it go? Great! I honestly just wanted to AW because I heard the heartbeat for the first time. I went in thinking that she might not be able to hear anything, but she found it right away. It was almost surreal to hear. Baby sounds healthy with a heartbeat around 150. Everything else went smoothly - got the okay for a vacation to Hawaii in February, and also will be bumping my anatomy u/s to after Christmas after all.
AW: Pics? None today
Questions/Concerns? Nope. I'm feeling very relaxed and happy for a good appt!
What was your appointment for? 4 week check-up at 16 weeks (monday) How did it go? Awesome! Heard the baby's Heart beat and the heart rate was 158. Due to our crazy schedules, they were able to book us for our anatomy scan dec 15th! Also did the blood work for quad screen
AW: Pics? Nope
Questions/Concerns? Just hope the blood work results come back fine!
How did it go? It was good! I FINALLY go to meet with my favorite doctor in the practice. My first two appts were with the NP who apparently told me my DUE DATE WRONG! and documented something to help with my headaches but never actually told me! Pissed me the fuck off. We scheduled our anatomy scan for January 2nd, and repeat c-section for May 13th!
Questions/Concerns? Now that everything is straight with the real doctor, I am not concerned! I just wish I would have been able to see her sooner!
We just had our anatomy scan on Tuesday. Everything looked perfect! Such a huge relief! DH was amazed because he hasn't been to an u/s since the baby was just a heartbeat flicker, and I have been going every 2 weeks so this is the first time he has been able to see the baby.
It was pretty cool that we were able to see our little man yawning on the screen and got some great pictures.

Had 16 week appointment yesterday and met a new midwife. Heartbeat strong in the 160s. The midwife is allowing our anatomy scan on Dec 23rd. I was prepared to wait but almost hugged her when she told me we could do it at 19 weeks!
No pics since first ultrasound so can't wait to see baby!
No major concerns just praying all looks good on the scan!
Had my monthly OB appointment on Tuesday. Babies were great and HB ticking away at 140 and 130! I got the wild hair to go ahead and see if I could schedule an elective u/s to find out the sex.
Soooooo....I was able to get in and the twins are boy and girl! Baby A was a girl so I automatically began thinking my husband was going to be the sole male in the house. But baby B decided to show the parts and it's a boy! We are thrilled. She said everything looked good and didn't see anything concerning (she also works at the hospital) so the a/s should have good news as well.
We are so excited! Doing an elective was fun. It was nice to just watch LOs moving around. They loved being tucked up and stretching their arms out.
What was your appointment for? Regular appointment with the midwife and anatomy scan with the MFM.
How did it go? Great! Baby is healthy and active. Only bummer was that we were trying to wait and be surprised with the sex when we saw my parents in 2 weeks, but the tech slipped up and used the pronoun. It's a girl!
Questions/Concerns?The midwife is recommending a girdle/support belt for my pelvic bone pain, so now I have to look into that.
Daughter born at 34 weeks due to PPROM, July 2012
Expecting baby #2, May 8, 2015
May 2015 signature challenge for January: "You had ONE job!"
How did it go? Great! Everything was "average and uninteresting," baby made his/her mommy and daddy proud by being a total pain in the ass and not cooperating, which meant we didn't get any cute face pictures, but that's okay. They were able to see the sex, which they put in an envelope and sealed for us to open at a reveal party in a few weeks, so that was good.
AW: Pics? Nah - see above.
Questions/Concerns? The only disconcerting part about the whole experience was after it was over, the ultrasound tech said, "Everything looks normal! Now I'm just going to get approval - stay here and I'll be right back." Then ten minutes later, she wasn't right back, and a doctor appeared instead. That was kind of terrifying for a moment. The doctor was like, "Okay, I'm just going to look at a few more things myself now..." Freaked me out. Then she said, "Here, we always have the doctor come and check on a couple things after the main scan, even if everything looks normal, which it does." ???? That was a thing someone might have warned me about beforehand. That's a good protocol I think and it was nice to have a doctor looking too, but seriously, seeing a doctor enter the room after an uneventful anatomy scan that I thought was over was a little scary.
@tiggyt the same thing happened at my anatomy scan. DR came in to do a second u/s after the u/s tech was finished. I actually felt comforted by the fact that a Dr came in to verify everything but I can understand how that would scare you.

What was your appointment for? Tuesday we had a regular OB checkup. Wednesday we had our anatomy scan.
How did it go? The appointment with our OB went well. The anatomy scan was a different story. They said everything looked healthy with the baby. However, they neglected to tell us I have complete placenta previa. So, I went home, and I started bleeding. I called my doc, had to go to the ER, and they told me there that they had missed one important detail to tell us. This is after they took me to L+D and monitored me all night. Now I'm on pelvic rest. I will now be closely monitored as "high risk" with no further internal exams to be done.
AW: Pics? Yes!! We got a close up of our LO's face and he/she looks just like DH. Team Green until April/ May though!
Questions/Concerns? @tiggyt@dj99 you are lucky the doctor makes it a point to come in. My doctor never bothered to come in and was "in a meeting", so they never told me I had a major diagnosis that could have caused major bleeding if I had sex/ exercised etc. Luckily the doc is not my primary OB. The on call doc said she is going to have a long talk with then about changing the policy about docs not coming in after the scan.
What was your appointment for? It was a typical 16 week appointment. I did have blood work done to test for spina bifida though. I am waiting to hear the results. I also scheduled my 20 week anatomy scan for January 5th.
How did it go? Everything went really well. I was able to hear the heartbeat (147), which is always exciting.
AW: Pics? No, this was the first time I didn't have an ultrasound
What was your appointment for? - I had my a/s today at 18w6d. We were referred to MFM at a bigger hospital because my brother had spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and gastroschisis- so that's where we went today.
How did it go? - Amazing! We verified that she is, in fact, a girl (we went to a boutique at 15weeks and were told the same thing). But she looks so great and wiggly that the specialist says she does not need to see us again, and we can just follow up with my regular OB from now on.
What was your appointment for? Today was our 20 week scan!! How did it go? I was so nervous as I am still not showing or felt any movement yet. So to see our little baby, who was perfect with 10 fingers and toes and organs and heart valves and everything else she checked. She also told me I have a "long uterus" which Is a main reason I'm not showing. (I'm using it anyways, before I was saying it's because I'm not thin, but having a long uterus sounds hilarious and in going with it) We had the lady write down the sex in an envelope to open christmas morning AW: Pics? Added below, with arms and legs in the air... Whoop whoop what a little gangsta
Questions/Concerns? None..... The relief that my baby is still in there and healthy.... Holy fuck I know it's normal at 20 weeks to still not show, not feel anything but I have to admit, reading everyone feeling flutters at 15weeks and having proper baby bumps scares me... But now fuck that feeling because I'm growing my first little boo in my long uterus \:D/
I had my 16 week appt today. DH went with me. It was pretty uneventful for the most part. So nice to hear the HB at 144-150 bpm. It kept fluctuating, she told me that is cause our LO is quite active and moving around lots. She let me hear the HB for a little while which was really nice. I can't wait to get a belly bump and to feel our LO move. Soon enough I suppose.
I had my anatomy scan today. (19 weeks, 1 day). As some of you may have seen from post I made last week, we were team green but I thought that I was maybe able to ID the sex on an us I had last week. After discussing the options, we decided to find out the sex today. I was right! We are having a healthy (thank goodness) baby girl! I couldn't be happier. It is such a relief to hear that she seems to be growing well and seems healthy.
What was your appointment for? I had my midwife appointment and my anatomy scan this week.
How did it go? Midwife appointment was fine - uneventful. Everything seems fine. My AS was the next day and only got half done. THe baby was sitting in a bad position for about 50% of the pics so the technician made me go for a walk/eat etc but it didn't help. I probably could have stayed and walked more etc, but I was SO sick I had to reschedule. So I'm going back on Thursday to complete the scan. I *think* everything seemed okay so far - but I'm hoping for a little more info tomorrow!
AW: Pics? Nope - left that at home but will add them tomorrow hopefully.
Questions/Concerns? Nothing really. My tech was actually pretty by the book when it came to the sex thing. I told her that our NIPT said girl but I was looking forward to a confirmation. She said "well I can't disclose anything but I can show you that area" and she really stuck to her word. haha.
What was your appointment for? Monthly appt/check up & 2nd part of blood work
How did it go?- Was pretty uneventful until the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat on the doppler. I know it's not an abnormal scenario, but it didn't prevent me from having a mini panic attack. Ultrasound was perfect, apparently his position may have been the cause and from what I understood, a contration that I was having.
AW: Pics?- She did print a couple out for me but they weren't too great. We go for our anatomy scan on New Year's Eve- can't wait.
What was your appointment for? Anatomy scan and second part of sequential screening
How did it go? It was so wonderful. Baby is looking perfect and growing right on track. Everything is going so well, i'm so grateful. Oh and also... we've confirmed that we're having a BOY!
AW: Pics? Here's my little guy saying "leave me alone already!"
What was your appointment for? Anatomy scan! Our appointment was Monday. I was 19w3d.
How did it go? Amazing!! We were there for a good hour. Baby is positioned so that her feet and hands are on my belly and back to mine, so she was being really difficult and they couldn't get the measurements they needed easily. Which for me equalled more time watching my baby girl and TONS of pictures. I mean like 20! Found out baby girl is healthy, oh and a girl!! We were so excited!
AW: Pics? Yes, yes, yes! Last time we saw her was at 10 weeks, so it was awesome to finally see that little profile again! And of course I'm going to AW the bejesus out of my new little lady.
Questions/Concerns? Not really! I'll be flying beginning of January so I'm going to ask my doctor about that. Not sure if there is anything I should worry about.
How did it go? Wonderful! We are having a healthy baby BOY!
AW: Pics? His profile is below!
Questions/Concerns? Nope. Just a statement that my next appointment will be the gestational diabetes test with the awful glucola drink.
I had to do an early glucose test since my mom has diabetes and they actually gave me a fruit punch instead of cola and it was DELICIOUS! I actually don't think I'll mind when I have to go back for the regularly scheduled one.
How did it go? Great! Baby is measuring right on schedule and was wiggling around like crazy. The Dr. and the tech checked for the sex and while baby wasn't fully cooperating they are 90% positive its a GIRL! Hubby is still holding out for the other 10% that it can still be a boy ;-)
AW: Pics? BOOOO no! I realized after I left the appointment that they forgot to give me my pictures
Questions/Concerns? Not really. I go on the 12th of January for my 20 week appointment plus an echo to check the heart chambers. Dr said my risk of cystic fibrosis was 1:1100 and I said that was good enough for me haha
I sent you a private message referring to you saying your brother had both Spina Bifida and Gastroschisis. I am due in May and found out my son has both also. I have searched for months and your post is the only one I have found that talks about someone having both. I would love to hear back from you.
Re: AW: Appointments 12/3 - 12/10
