I just gave away sooo many due to accepting that my feet have grown post pregnancy and almost none of my shoes will ever fit again. ( I'm left with about 12 pairs (not including cheap flip flops - of which I have many).
I probably have around 50. I need to go through them and get rid of some that I'm never going to wear again. I just overhauled all of my clothes a few months ago, so shoes are next.
To answer my own question, at last count, it was over 65 pairs (not counting my flip flops...I love flip flops), the majority of which have been worn in the past year or so. This was AFTER I donated a ton when I purged my closet before we moved in June. I have a problem...
Less than 10, not counting work shoes. I know people who wear Danskos almost daily, but I don't love them. Right now I'm usually wearing my tall boots or my jewel-toned flats.
At last count I had over 75 pairs including boots. DH bought me a shoe cabinet from IKEA and spent hours putting it together because I was out of room for them in my closet. He doesn't complain though because he's the one that buys them. His shoe fetish means I get amazing shoes
I am so sad for everyone who's shoes no longer fit post kids! I got so lucky both times in that sense...with Corri, she came too early (not the lucky part) for my feet to swell up, and with Gavin, they only swelled a little and I purposely wore all of my shoes on a rotating basis in an attempt to do my own version of Japanese foot binding, lol! Plus, I noticed that my friends who lived in flip flops had a harder time fitting back into shoes, so I avoided living in them, even though I was pregnant for the first two months of flip flop weather. It worked, I went back to normal within a few months afterward.
