We started with purees and now give him everything we eat. We started with puffs and once I saw him chew those, I added other things into the mix. We did homemade sweet potato fries, cucumbers without seeds, etc. He ate the entire Thanksgiving meal (brussel sprouts and all).
C grabbed another kids carrot at daycare and ate it! So we are going to start finger foods now..... her first finger food at home was turkey at thanksgiving which she ate like a champ.
I'm going to start giving the same fruit and veggies she eats now but just steamed and cut up in little pieces.
Cheerios are her favorite. Puffs. Apple slices. Pizza crust. Considering sweet potato fries, I'm just afraid she'll cram the whole thing in and gag on it.
He gets pretty much everything we eat but I have a small stock of baby food in reserve in case it's too salty or spicy. His favorite meal is scrambled eggs with banana on the side.
For meals he gets purées but I offer him finger foods often. Bell peppers, Apples, cucumbers, celery are his favorites. He loves food Cheerios, baby puffs, mum mums, yogurt melts work too!
She's tried way too many things to list but some favorites are spaghettios (the Gerber ones marketed for toddlers), pickle spears without the seeds, and the Gerber little crunchies! We started with purees routinely around 6.5 months and she's a day shy of 8 months now.
LO loves toast with butter and pancakes, pizza crust, fruit slices, softened apple slices I simmer in Apple juice, green beans.... Pretty much everything. I gave him an egg roll to play with the other night and he went crazy making out with it. He couldn't really eat it but he sure did love to chew it. Also tried quesadilla last night, which he liked too.
