Avent Bottles

Anyone used the Avent Natural Bottles? If so what do you think of them? Slow enough nipple? I am starting to give DD more bottles and want to prevent nipple confusion. The Medela nipples flow too fast so I want to use something else and I already have some Avent bottles that were gifted to me.

We use them a good bit.  DS does well with them and never had nipple confusion.  We are now FF but I used them when I was still BF too.

I actually just bought some more.  The only thing is that sometimes the nipple collapses so you have to check it.

  • I found the flow to be okay, but my we've been struggling with a tight/shallow latch and have found the Lansinoh bottles to work well for us. I had the same issue as PP with LO making the nipple collapse.

  • DD is usually just breastfed, but we use that exact bottle when feeding her pumped milk. She hasn't had any problems with nipple confusion or flow. I actually need to buy another one to have on hand. I bought an avent bottle but it had a different nipple and she didn't like it.

  • I've been using these and find them to be slow enough, generally. However, I have one nipple that flows faster than the other three I have, despite them all being the # 1 nipples.

  • DD likes these the best. The Dr browns was too fast

  • We use these and haven't had issues with nipple confusion. We are transitioning to EPING though and I feel she gets a lot of air with this so gonna try Dr. Browns.
  • We have these, Tommee Tippie and the munchkin latch.DS likes the latch best- slowest flow, then avent, then tommee Tippie
  • I haven't tried these yet. I have one I got as a free sample that I will try. The Lansinoh momma has been my favorite - medela sucks.

  • We have them and love them. Aram is still using the #1 flow nipple even though they suggest moving up to #2 at a month. We tried the #2 and it was too fast.
  • Don't want to hijack this thread but since we're talking about different nipples:

Has anyone tried the Medela Calma nipple?

  • We EBF but Im trying to find a bottle that works for DD2. I found the Avent ones and Tommee Tippee were too fast and she was confused on how to latch. We tried MAM and she latched right on with no problems. Now to just get her to like it...

I did with DD1 but didnt find it to be worth the cost. She didnt take to that any better/worse than all the other ones we tried.

We use it but it's the only nipple we've offered to DS, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. He takes it just fine, though!
  • We use this bottle when DD gets pumped milk and have had no problems. Of course she'll take anything that will go in her mouth and not have trouble. These are the ones DH liked to use best. I go back to work tonight and she'll be getting it a lot more, so I guess that will be the real test when it comes to nipple confusion
