Had an appointment today - baby is measuring fine (fundal height 25 @ 25 weeks) and his HR was 150. I had to do the GDM screen -- will update this post with the results as soon as I get them. Midwife was not worried about my diastasis but did Rx a cream for my (very severe and oh SO lovely) pregnancy acne, which she was actually worried about being something more serious than just acne. :-/ She referred me to dermatology too.
In <1 hr I have a repeat u/s to check on the cysts in his brain. Hopefully they have fully resolved. I don't even want to think about the alternatives if they're still around. :-/ I know it's <1% chance of anything truly being wrong, but man... that would be shitty. To say the least.
ETA: Baby is 100% healthy! The cysts are gone! He weighs 1lb 14 oz & apparently very much enjoys sucking his thumb.
Also, I gained a fuck ton of weight since my last appt -- gotta get my ass on the treadmill. And dust of those yoga DVD's. I expected this... but I'm totally hitting that wall of reality with this pregnancy. I kind of understand the OAD mentality, which I never, ever thought I'd say. I guess once everything gets back to normal (FX FX FX FX FX) I might consider doing it all again... :-/
I have my glucose test Friday, followed immediately by an appt at MFM to check the status of my previa (FX the placenta has moved, and I'll be able to do the natural birth I've planned on), and then right after that I go down the hall to my OB to go over the MFM results and do a quick routine check...
Just finished my appointment and glucose tolerate test. It wasn't as bad as I remember it being last time. Heartbeat is 150 and baby is head down so all good news. My bp was really low the last couple appointments but has come up some. Pretty positive appointment!
I have an appt with a specialist on Thurs to determine if a scheduled csection will be necessary. I was born with a heart problem so we are not sure if going into labor will be the best option for me. I will also be having genetic counseling that day to discuss the chances of this little one or any future kids having the same issue.
Last but not least, they will be checking the pooling of blood in the placenta to see if it has gone day.
Can't say I am " looking forward" to the appt, but definitely hoping for some good answers/results.
I had my 24 week checkup this afternoon. Baby Girl's heart rate was in the 140's and my fundal height was measuring at 25 weeks, do just a week ahead. I actually lost half a pound somehow. Everything was good on the diabetes end of the appointment. They are happy with how the medication is working. The only concern was I've had a couple of fasting levels over 105 and they said if it keeps happening they will have to adjust my medication. Insulin is still a possibility later in pregnancy but hopefully I won't need it. I have another appointment in 3 weeks at 27 weeks.
Had my 24 week this morning. Baby's HR was 150 and fundal height was measuring 25 weeks. All looked normal and boring! I head back in 4 weeks for the glucose test. Good luck everybody!
GD test next Tuesday. Can't wait. Wondering is an ultrasound routinely performed at that time? Or is it just a blood draw? If it is not, I am considering exaggerating some of the symptoms I feel to encourage my doc to do one. I feel pressure in my pelvis and some menstrual type cramping. I need a mental sanity check. Waaaay too worried!
I had an appointment this morning, everything is looking great! Which is a huge relief after being involved in a car accident on Monday. Have my GD test and TDAP in 3 weeks, measuring a week ahead, 25 weeks. Hope all is well with you ladies:)
Still at my appointment- just waiting on the blood draw for the glucose screen. Measuring perfect at 26 weeks. Had our f/u u/s on Monday and her heart and kidneys look great and the placenta had moved up to a good spot. She measured at 1lb 15oz at the scan. So looks like things are going great over here, hope everyone else gets good news too!!!
Had my 24 week check up today. Heart was 144 bpm, my blod pressure was 120/80. Babygirl was wiggling away from the doppler...she did not like that. I'm messuring 25 cm at 24 wks so i'm pretty much on track there. Gained 8 pounds since my last check up but i was underweight then...still, i need to quit talking and actually sign up for some prenatal yoga classes.I do my glucose test in 4 weeks and they want me to do TDAP then too...stil trying to decide if i want to. All in all it was a boring, but good visit
@rachyrach06 Glad you had a good appointment! Is there a particular fear you have or reason you don't want to get the TDAP? I only ask because I haven't really found anything negative about getting it and it is standard practice to give to pregnant women in the third trimester to pass some immunity to the baby against pertussis as they won't get their first immunization until 2 months.

no fear per se...i've just not had any thing like it ever and i've not even gotten a flu shot in close to 15 years. i just wanted to look into it more before blindly saying yes.
my brother is one of the types that's all about IF you vaccinate then do it at your own schedule. they wanted to do flu and tdap at the same time and i called my bro and mentioned that i haven't gotten a flu shot in so long, should i really get one now and what about the tdap. his words were "if you're gonna get sick from those things, its gonna happen regardless". i didn't know or think to ask about it being a way to vaccinate the baby for those 1st 3 to 6 months.
i tried looking up some stuff on it today but couldn't tell how reputable the sources were that i was seeing so i gave up on it for the day...i've got 4 weeks to figure it out right?

@rachyrach06 Were you not vaccinated growing up? At least in the US it is standard for children to receive doses of the Dtap (adult version is the Tdap). There are actually outbreaks in a few states right now of pertussis (whooping cough) from a decline in vaccination. Here are a few reputable links for info from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and the ACOG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) for you to look at. If you are unsure about receiving it after looking at some of the info talk to your OB, they should be able to give you their reasons why they think it is necessary for you and baby and allow you to feel like whatever you choose you are making an informed decision.
I had my 24 week appt today (a week late). Quick and no issues - everything was measuring right on track. HR was 148; when she pressed the doppler down, he kicked her. hehe.
My next appt was supposed to be in 3 weeks and I do the glucose test then. Except that's the week of Chrismas and I'll be out of town all week. So I am doing it the following Monday, 12/29. Which means more Christmas cookies and pie for me! ;-)

Honestly i'm not sure if i was vaccinated for it as a child but i would imagine so. The last thing i remember having was a tetnus shot when i was 16...i'm fairly certain that i had all the normal boosters as a young child tho since my parents weren't weird about vaccinations.
My aunt also recently gave me a book i've not had a chance to read that talks alot about the pros and cons to vaccinating.
Thank you so much for the info, i'm copy/pasting this into an email so that i can read on it this evening. I think i'll feel a whole lot better being able to make an informed decision on this.
Had my 24 wk check up and all is well with baby girl. HR around 150ish. I did fail at peeing in the cup today though... All over my hand. Turns out that was pretty much how the rest of my day went!
Had my 26 weeks and 4 days high risk appointment today regular OB tomorrow. Baby girl is looking good measuring about 2 pounds so far. They don't want me doing traditional glucose tolerance test as I had weight loss surgery 2 1/2 years ago so they will order to do finger sticks for a week, yay, not, I've had the drink and it's not that bad. Well I go back in another 4 weeks at least we get monthly ultrasound pictures of her growing:)))
Not a baby-related appt. persay, but I have an appt. with the vein doc tomorrow. I had a vein in my leg lasered closed last Dec. because it was extremely enlarged and causing me problems and causing varicose veins in my calf. Now I'm starting to have some of the same symptoms (most definitely pregnancy-related) so I bumped my appt. up a few weeks to make sure everything is okay. He said my vein was equivalent to that of a 90 year old and if I had not come in and had had a baby/gone into labor, it could have burst from the pressure and I would have had to have emergency surgery. Fx that it's just pelvic pressure and nothing major to be concerned about now.
I'm 24 weeks currently & during today's doctors appointment he told me that i'm measuring at 27 weeks. So during my level 2 ultrasound the little one's size will be re-checked. Was scheduled a level 2 ultrasound due to an echogenic cardiac focus being seen. =/ Crossing my fingers that it's nothing!
Had an appointment yesterday and everything was great! They did the last cervical ultrasound and everything is still holding strong. RJ's heartbeat was 137 and she looked great on the ultrasound. Now I actually get a break for four weeks -- my first four weeks in between appointments since the beginning! I'll have to retake the one-hour glucose test and I'm crossing my fingers that I pass because I do NOT want to take the three-hour one again. Yuck.
I had 27w appointment yesterday. They said everything from my second a/s looked good. The measured my bump and said I'm measuring a little small (even though the a/s showed LO is right on track) so I'll be going for another u/s around 32 weeks.
28 week appointment this morning, a couple of days early. Regular OB
appt (pee in cup, step on scale, blood pressure, doppler, measure fundal
height). All good. Up another five pounds, but five pounds a month
seems to be where I'll be for this pregnancy. I'm good with that. Also
had my glucose test and I'm waiting for the results. I will be surprised
as hell if my levels are elevated.
Appointments every two weeks start in two weeks for me! I can't believe it's getting so close!.
@jennypm - I had my first fundal height taken at my 24 week appointment, but I have no idea what is a normal schedule for that.
ETA: Glucose was fine, but I'm apparently a little anemic, which
I've never experienced before. So now I get to start an iron pill.
24 weeks now and had my appt yesterday. I didn't think the glucose drink was *too* bad, but I'm really thankful that it was ice cold! I imagine it gets nastier the warmer it gets. FX for those waiting for results, and hugs and good-blood-sugar wishes to those having to modify diet or take meds. Next appointment is after the new year!
Had my anatomy scan and 24 week appointment on Monday found out we are expecting a little princess ...everything seem to look fine on the ultrasound went to my 24 week appt and heart rate sounded great and she is measuring about a week ahead ... Seemed great until I left and 30 min later got a phone call telling me she was referring me to another hospital a hour away to see specialist to check the fluid level in baby girls Nuchal fold ... It was higher than normal I guess and now want a better look and a level 2 ultrasound done ( i have that appt Monday ) if baby girls fluid is still high on Monday it could be a indicator of Down syndrome, a heart defect or nothing at all...but I'm nervous/scared ...my heart is and gut is telling me she is 100% fine but I'm still nervous because what if she's isn't of course I'll still love my baby regaurdless she is a blessing. But still its something I was never expecting
I had my one-year follow up appt. with my vein doc. They did an ultrasound of my leg to make sure the vein they closed isn't somehow re-opening, and he said everything looks great. All the pain and discomfort I'm feeling is from the baby putting pressure on my pelvis. While the tech was doing the u/s, I was watching my belly move all over the place and he was just wiggling away in there.
Had my GD blood draw today. Nothing exciting, but I'm anxious about the results.
28 week u/s on the 15th. Hoping those measurements have sorted themselves out and everything is okay. My dad wants to come but was too shy to ask outright, which was adorable. So he'll probably come see the grandbabbens on the monitor.
