Zipadee Zip Owners?

We have been looking at the Zipadee Zip's on-line for awhile knowing that DS would soon be rolling over (he did for the first time today) and we would have to transition out of the swaddle.  I was talking with my mom and we were thinking that maybe we could measure LO's arms and put a couple of stiches in some sleep sac arms and make our own Z Z.  This would allow us to modify the size as he grows and not keep buying the expensive "name brand" ZZ.  I read the story on the ZZ website and the founder was a stay at home mom who made her first suit on her own sewing machine so why can't I?   Is there any reason y'all can see that this may not work?  Any suggestions would be appreciated?

    I just purchased my first one a few weeks ago. I like it but have yet to see a big difference in his sleep. I think he needs to be a bit bigger for the resistance. I could always send you the measurements so that if you sew, you can make your own at home.

    I will post the measurements in the morning... Well probably middle of the night for you guys. I'm about 6 hours ahead of you and LO is sleeping in the zip right now. The fabric is very light weight with a very small amount of stretch. I have seen them sell it in fleece fabric but my LO gets so hot at night that I need a light fabric. I would love to make one but I'm not good with sewing zippers.

    I've considered having my mom sew some now that we have the original to compare it to.

    Not that I care at all but it is a copyright infringement to make your own that's identical to theirs (says so on their website) so Id avoid posting the measurements on a public forum @arcarpe2‌. A friend of mine got in hot water after making scrub caps modeled off of a name brand.

    Again, I certainly don't care but I wouldn't want to see any of you get sued or something silly. Not that it would likely come to that.

    I showed ours to my grandma who sews & she said it'd be very easy to make-if you know how to sew!

    I'd take the other one off your hands @sarzer121!  I wanted to buy another one but the $40 price tag (with shipping) is so steep!
