Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Diarrhea, blood in stool, reduced feedings and crying during feedings

Has anyone experienced this in their 3 month old? They think it may be a milk allergy.  He is on zantac, prilosec and similac alimentum.  He started having diarrhea about 12 days ago.  It cleared up but then he started refusing the bottle some.  Now his diarrhea is back and has tested positive for blood in his stool. Thanks!

  • I haven't but I would suggest you see a dr and go by their advice.
I know having a young baby is stressful and to have this to top all I can say is hang in there and take your baby to the dr.

  • Thank you! We definitely have the doctors involved. :)

My nephew had GERD and a milk allergy as a newborn. I don't remember if he had diarrhea but he had blood in his stool which indicated the milk allergy (according to his doctor). He is 6 now and still sensitive to cow's milk.
  • DS had this at 2 months.  I was EBF so they asked me to give up dairy and soy.  It cleared up pretty quickly after that, though if I even had trace amounts he would react.  It cleared up at about 10 months or so.
