This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts!

Re: CPW: Gift Budget

  • I think I would be in the $50-75 range, except so far I've gotten everything with coupon stacks and free gift cards so I'm still under $10.

I did buy some clothes that were going to go under the tree, but I think he's growing too fast to wait!

  • We didn't really set out a budget when we bought her gifts. We got her a chair, Elmo stuffed toy, and an activity table that all equaled to $90.
  • I ordered a $30 felt tree for her. I think that's it this year from us :(
That seems perfectly fine to me! She won't know the difference, and you're not setting up unreasonable expectations.

  • I put $25-$50, with two LOs we definitely have to budget. But DH and I don't get each other anything and the girls are so young, they won't know any different. Just going to get things that they need and maybe some cute matching Christmas pj's. We both have nieces and nephews to buy for also, we try to set a budget of about $25 for each.

  • I hit the $200 mark on my daughter so far & since I'm done shopping already, I picked $200-300. I'm sure I'll wind up grabbing a couple of extra little things. My son might not exactly hit the $200 mark because he has no clue what Christmas is & I'm taking advantage of that.  :O)
  • I'm not mobile & I plan on using all smileys unreachable via mobile by the way.  L-)
  • We've already spent $150ish?  Still have two items to buy that total around $100, plus some stocking stuffers (stickers, bubbles, etc.)
  • All his stuff on layaway right now is about $100. May get him some other little things here & there.

  • No idea. I don't even want to think about it. We're pretty tight on money right now. Probably $25 or so. She'll get tons from our families anyways.

  • I think we are around $150. Santa is brining her a play kitchen which was over $100, and then I bought her 3 little things from Mom & Dad.

I am more concerned about the number of gifts than the money spent. She doesn't understand amounts yet, but I don't want to get in the habit of having a ton a packages under our tree.
  • I picked $500, but I included money we put into their savings accounts. We try to make a big deposit every Christmas. We put $300 into each account so far and I hope to put another $200-$300 before the end of the month. We also spent about $200 each on toys.

The older kids are asking for more expensive things, so the amount that I spend per kid won't be uniform. In total, including stocking stuffers, I'm budgeting $2000.
