I'm really thinking that I want to try and go med free when I deliver. Mainly because I hate the idea of an epidural and systemic drugs can effects baby too. I had heard of hypnobirthing from one of my college professors and she swears by it! I was just wondering if anyone else here had tried it/done it and what you thought of it. Thanks
I tried hypnobirthing with my first but it did not stick once the labor pains really kicked in! It all went right out the window! I still was able to have a non-medicated birth but probably won't ever try it again. I've heard that it has been successful for many others - just not me.
There are other options too! Just read about them all then decide. Lamaze and Bradley Are two other popular natural birthing methods. I'll personally be using the Bradley Method.
@kboyet I did use HypnoBirthing but did get an epidural. I think things would have been different if I was not loaded up with pitocin. I think it really helped me relax through early labor.
Thanks! I've been practicing and love how it helps me relax so however it goes, it has been worthwhile. Also, so happy for you that your baby is safely here!
I did hypnobabies and loved it! Although I didn't have to natural med free birth I wanted, it really helped my keep calm and focus during the flury when the Drs told me the needed to do and emergency c section. After everything was over all of the Drs said I was the most calm patient considering the circumstances.
@marsavary I am doing the home study and was able to borrow from my doula. I started at about 34 weeks. If you could get the CDs at least I think they'd help with relaxation. I will let you guys know how it turns out for me when LO makes his debut. I don't do a very good job of relaxing so I was floored at how well it has worked for me.
