Jillian's Darwers had 20% off everything; including Tulas. That was the one thing I was looking for during Black Friday. I woke up to this email.

Edit: apparently I just read it wrong. Poor wording too early in the morning.

I think maybe I read it wrong. I read it as if their justification was that it was enabling people. I think they are saying they're sorry bc they realize that sometimes people can't afford them, but they don't have them.

I think the wording is very poor, and the word enabled threw me.

I'd see which sites you frequent and see if they have a double or triple point day.

That way you can use it for things you normally buy like diapers, creams, etc.

That is a major bummer. I've always had good experiences with Jillian's drawers but I would be super disappointed.

On a Tula group on fb, they're saying it could possibly cause Tula to cancel their contract with Jillian's drawers and not let them carry them anymore.

Not sure how true that it.

I'm bummed that I can't find Folk Birds in a standard. My 12 month old is too small for a Toddler, correct?

I think they recommend 25 lbs or 18 months.

My 1 year old fits fine in the standard. But he's not really tall. I haven't tried it with my 3 year old to test it out.

I'm guessing there was some kind of mix-up or miss communication. Usually the supplier has to agree to the sale price they are offering.

Honestly, I thought it was really odd that they were offering that much of a discount.

The back panel is longer and wider. So it's more about how long their legs are and their height.

The same reason bg annoys me. Just make prints in a reasonable number and sell them in a way trying to buy them doesn't have to be a full time job.

I don't expect anyone else to be annoyed with me or anything. I'm sure I'm just being grouchy.

@Heather6789, I'll PM you a shop that has two Folk Birds in standard. I bought my Toddler Folk Birds from them when I couldn't find it anywhere else. Unfortunately, they're not on sale like Kelly's closet. I think Toddler is too big. It is roomy on my 32 lb, 21 month old.

Same thing happened to my sister. Tula does not allow discounts over 10%.

I really don't get how tula can do that though. If the store purchaces the tulas at a wholsale price, can't they sell them for whatever they want? The store would be the one to eat the price loss.

It all depends on their contract as a third party retailer.

Tula most likely has every retailer sign the same agreement for the rights to sell their goods.

And depending on payment terms, they might not have paid for the inventory yet (net 30, net 45, inventory on consignment, etc).

And Tula has no guarantee that they will pay until they have cash in hand.

Companies don't want their brand image to change because their product is sold cheap. A $75 carrier isn't as amazing as at $145 one, right? And when a distributor comes along who's willing to sell at, say, 5 points instead of the 30 everyone else is taking, that's sure to piss off the other distributors.

The company I work for got booted as a distributor for a major line in our industry for cutting prices too far. Oops.
