It depends on the audience. If it is my siblings I would probably say y'all but if it was a more formal setting I would probably say everyone (hi everyone, can I have everyone's attention, etc). The again I use "you guys" a lot too for friends! So it depends!

Y'all to my family and friends who are from/still live in the South. (MS born and bred) Generally use 'you guys' around our friends here who are mostly Yankees. I actually don't sound Southern at all (neither does my mom, and she's from a really small town in MS) in daily life, it's a quirk. I get mildly Southern when drunk.

So I chose "you guys", but maybe I should have other'd.
I use "you guys", "y'all", "you all", and "youse guys (when being silly)" pretty interchangeably. I also will address people without the "you" pronoun, as in "Hey, all" and "'Sup, guys".
Basically, I ain't gonna conform to them rules all y'alls use for peeps.
Please note that due to the actions of TheBump and their parent company, XO Corporation, I no longer feel safe or comfortable posting regularly on this forum for my pregnancy journey.

I say you guys and it really annoys me when people feel the need to replace guys with ladies if it's a group of women. I don't know why. To me, guys is unisex (in this context) and it's just annoying when someone feels the need to act like it's not.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
And my biggest pet peeve is when people spell it wrong. It is a contraction of you and all. The apostrophe replaces the "ou". Thus, it needs to be in front of the "all".
It used to be "you guys" when I lived in Chicago (born and raised there). Then I moved to Louisiana and it became "y'all" pretty quickly. I probably change back and forth depending where I am.

I'm from WV, we say y'all. We also say yunz. Sometimes I wonder how people from other regions understand us, we have a unique dialect.
I totally get that. My dad is from WV and still has a strong accent at times. My brother and I ended up with a weird combination of West Virginian and Southern accents.
"Yinz" is a Pittsburgh, PA thing. I grew up in that area and I can't tell you the amount of time people use that. When I get going about something it comes out. There was someone who posted a thread and wrote "yunz" and that's not the way they spell it there. Comedian Billy Gardell (Mike from Mike & Molly) is from there and he has a moment in his "Halftime" special where he does Pittsburgh talk because it was filmed there. Gives me memories!
@thewickedfairy it's "yunz" here in southern WV! We even pronounce it with the "uh" sound. lol
LOL! I was referring to a newb that ended up going BSC and GBCB. I saw that you were talking about WV. I've got family in WV and southeastern OH and they say it that way also.
I picked other because I'm a weird mix. I sometimes says "you guys" and sometiems say "y'all". I'm origianlly from the mid-west but I'm now a southern girl. I sort o like the "y'all"!
I say y'all all the time but my southern accent isn't very thick since I moved a lot when I was young. I can say though when I'm drunk, my southern accent multiplies by a thousand or when I get angry you can hear it a bit more.

My accent comes and goes, but "y'all" is forever. Also calling all soda "coke" and grocery carts "buggies."
When we were dating, I asked DH to grab me a buggy at the grocery store. The look in his eyes was pure confusion.

Yes! H is from the Boston area where they call them carts. Then here's me, "Babe, can you grab a buggy?" H's face was priceless!

SS because it's usually just guys or ladies. Not with a "you" in front. For example, "Hey guys!"
