July 2013 Moms

Talk to me about the teeth?

So Lilly has 16 teeth now. She got her first teeth in early December last year. Her last two canines cut through in early September and gradually came in throughout the next six weeks.

Over the last three weeks she's been putting half of her hand in her mouth (basically all of her fingers) and drooling more than she ever drooled when cutting her other teeth.

Does this sound like the two year molars are coming in already? Any BTDT moms have insights or older kid timelines to compare?

Re: Talk to me about the teeth?

  • Yeah, she's been ahead of "schedule" for all of her other teeth, but I didn't know if it really could be the 2 year molars yet.  :-?? I know every kid is different, but I haven't heard of anyone IRL getting the molars before 2. So much drool!  @-)

  • @biggunsbo‌ thank you so much for the chart. I was curious of the teeth they get. Now i can see what teeth are coming in and freak out how many more so will get.
  • Whoa, we still only have 6 teeth over here.

Maybe your baby is the piranha :D

The other July shark baby :D@haddocky
  • Thanks everyone :) I'm trying to stop myself from constantly telling her to take her fingers out of her mouth. I sound like a parrot :P
  • My daughter got her 2-year molars at 20 months. They were the worst! My son is having a really tough time with his canines, so I can't even imagine what the 2-year molars will bring our way.
  • @biggunsbo‌ ugh! That chart just makes me realize the sleepless nights because of teething are nowhere near their end :-w

  • B still just has 8. He's had two bouts of teething snot with no results since the last one came in and is a huge fan of chewing his hands, so I'm hoping something breaks through soon!

  • @EagleWife‌ we are similar to you guys, have had all 16 for a while too, and have been enjoying the lack of teething for the past few weeks now.

But the last couple of days A had been grabbing his teething sticks or toothbrushes and jamming them to the back of his mouth and chewing. I was hoping that if I ignored it, it wouldn't be real :( so, I guess it is possible. I have a feeling it'll be a few of these bouts of teething before anything breaks through. Argh. Wishing you luck on this.

@rondosa, thanks for the good wishes. Hopefully the teething isn't too bad for you guys.

Maybe NEXT year we won't be teething at Christmas time :)

Am I the only one with a LO with an odd number of teeth? DD has had 7 teeth since umm, August? All four on top and just three on the bottom.

My LO has 5. It looks weird to have an odd number.
