Pain in groin!

This is my first pregnancy and I'm very clueless about alot of things but learning stuff everyday. I'm 26 1/2 weeks prego and every day (started 2 weeks ago) I have a sharp pain in my groin when I stand or walk but it isn't consistent. I had a few people say it's a nerve..is it??? I'll be asking my doctor my next appointment.

Re: Pain in groin!

  • I'm also new and experience this. I've seen people on here say it's fire crotch?!? I don't know I haven't googled it yet

  • Well..I've read a couple different things..nerves and even growing pains. I just didn't want it to be anything serious. Thank you.
  • I think you mean lightening crotch, not fire crotch. As PPs stated, it could be round ligament pain or even at this point baby's position putting pressure on things. I've had a few instances where it feels like the little bugger is boxing me from the inside - I'm guessing kicks to the cervix?

  • pelvic girdle pain is what it sounds like to me.  I have this but didnt with my first pregnancy until the very end.  I describe it as feeling liek I was punched in the vagina.  It is so bad.

  • Lol at "fire crotch". Like PP mentioned, could be round ligament pain or pelvic girdle pain...

Bummer!  That would've been fun :)
  • I had this same pain with my first and am starting to experience it again.  It def is associate with RLP.  I went to a chiropractor with my first and it helped a bit.  If we are talking about the same pain, it's as if there is a ligament that just needs a little massaging, but you can't quite pin point it…that and it's in your pelvic floor region and it looks odd to just start massaging that area.  It will go away once the baby is born!

  • Omg don't even wanna know what fire crotch is lol but sounds like round ligament pain which I have had with both my pregnancies, last time it started at 6 months & lasted the rest of the pregnancy. This time it has been coming & going since like 4 months.
