Not sure exactly. At birth he was 8 pounds 5 oz, at 5 days 7 pounds 8 oz, and 4 weeks 9 pounds 10 oz. I think by 2 weeks is what is recommended, but I didn't have him formally weighed
ETA: She lost 11oz within two days of birth so might have taken longer than average to get back up to birth weight. The docs told me that if you get IV fluids (electrolytes and saline), which are required in my hospital if you are induced, then the baby's birth weight will be artificially inflated by a few ounces, with the result that it takes a little longer to get back to birth weight.
Not sure but it was definitely quick. The home scale had him up to 8lbs 3-4 days later and about a week to 9 days later at 9lbs. Given he was born at 7.11lbs were pretty happy with how well and quickly he gained.
My LO was past her birth weight at her 10 day pediatrician appointment. The last time she was weighed prior to that was when we were discharged at the hospital when she was 3 days old.
I honestly don't know. At 9 days, she was down 4.8 oz., to 9lbs. At 2 weeks 3 days, she was up 1lb 11.2oz from her birthweight to 11lbs. I weighed her today (3 weeks, 3 days) and she's 11lbs 9oz.

It's hard to say, but less than a week. He weighed 7lbs 2.5oz at birth on a Tuesday. When we left the hospital on Thursday he was 6lbs 13oz and at our first check up on the Tuesday (1 week old) he was 7lbs 6oz.
She was 7 lbs 1 oz, when we left the hospital she was 6 lbs 12 oz. At her newborn appt. 8 days later she was 7 lbs 10 oz. So sometime in the first week she was back. We are FF so that helped.
At their two week appt. Evan was right at his birth weight. Levi was still short at 3 weeks, but I'm sure he had reached it by 4 weeks at the rate he was finally going.
somewhere between day 4 and 5. By day 5 she was an ounce over her birth weight. She was born at 8lbs 13oz. By day 2 she was down to 8lbs 3oz and at day 5 she was 8lbs 14oz.
ETA: This is my 3rd, so my milk comes in way fast. It was in by the end of day 2 this time. With my 2nd it was in after 24hrs and he hardly lost any weight at all.
My milk came in quicker this time too, by the end of day 2 also. I didn't realize that would happen.
Ditto! I didn't realize this was a thing. This time it was 2-3 days sooner than with DS.
It took him almost 3 wks to gain that back, a long time it seemed to not even gain a full pound, but yet, he just gained 1 whole pound in this past week alone.

Mine didn't lose any weight he came out sucking down bottles snorting. When we left the hospital the nurse even commented that she was surprised he was still at birthweight and 4 days later he was up to 8.5 from 8 pounds at birth

We have a midwife coming over this Friday for our two week appointment. I'm guessing she I'll be back up to her birth weight??
