***Weight-Loss Check In***

Hello Ladies:

Sorry for the late post I was in the field today and just got home. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Please feel free to provide an update on where you are in your weight loss journey, what is working and what is not. Tips, recipes, apps and workout ideas would be awesome to share as well!

If you are new to the check in, answer these questions so we can get to know you:
1) What is your weight loss and/or getting healthy goal?
2) What methods are you using to reach your goal?
3) What is your biggest weakness that you cannot resist?

QOTW: If you could elope anywhere, where would it be? Money not an issue????

Re: ***Weight-Loss Check In***

  • I fell off the GF wagon for about a week after being strictly without it for 3 weeks. I noticed it made me bloated and really sick, like doubled over in pain sick. So, I've been back on the wagon for a few days and already feel better. I guess it's just more motivation not to eat gluten!

Q: My H and I eloped at a beautiful, quaint park near where I grew up. It was right by a pond at sunset and it was perfect. Pick a place that had special meaning for one or both of you. In my case, H didn't care where the ceremony was since he didn't grow up in Phoenix, but I had many special places so I chose for us. If you're thinking exotic, I would love to take a priest/minister/whatever and a couple witnesses and go up Machu Picchu for the ceremony. It would be so beautiful! I would choose that because hiking is how my husband and I first started hanging out and we would always pick the tallest point (thought nothing was that tall in Phoenix lol) and hike it. We've always dreamed of hiking Machu Picchu. That would be so romantic and exhilarating!

  • I had a really good week even with the holiday, I did overindulge on Thanksgiving but I also probably walked at least 5 miles or more while we are shopping so I figure it evens out! I maintained my weight all the way through Thanksgiving and so I came out ahead in my opinion.

QOTW: H and I have always said that if we could redo our wedding we would've taken the money and gone to some small remote island where there was only us and maybe a couple of other people and had a beachside wedding. Sandy beaches, umbrella drinks, and warmth sounds perfect to me!

@theholmanherd‌-nothing like physical pain to get you back on track! Sorry that you went through that though! Hopefully now that you know the exact outcome you'll be able to stick with the plan easier!

@murrt-anything can affect your weight! The time of the month, if you had a lot of sodium or processed foods, excess sugar, it all plays into it. I know I can gain and lose 5 pounds no problem without much change. Sorry your going through the roller coaster! If you want to make sure you don't gain right before weigh in day focus your meals on fruits and veggies the couple of days leading up to weigh in and stay away from sugar and salt. Those add water retention!

@rainbowbridge14- yay for better numbers!!! Amazing what weight does to our bodies!

  • I haven't responded to my own post because I gained 4 pounds over the past 2 weeks, mostly from drinking while family was in town and Thanksgiving. I'm so frustrated with myself. I did buy a stationary bike that I can use while watching TV so hopefully if I bike at least an hour a day I will see some progress.

I'm up in the air in regards to the elopement....Sedona....Yosemite....Alaska or Jackson Hole, WY.

  • 1) What is your weight loss and/or getting healthy goal? I just want to lose a few pounds and get healthy from the inside out.
    2) What methods are you using to reach your goal? Eating almost raw, lots of fruits and veggies, and meat once a day for protein. Also, trying to force myself to jog even in this freezing weather.
    3) What is your biggest weakness that you cannot resist? Chocolate and french fries. I can't go out to eat because I will convince myself that french fries are ok to get.

  • @lindy4aggie-hugs. I totally get that and how one day can spiral into a week. Allow yourself your day but try to keep your focus, I know that is easier said then done!

@pink doggie-healthy from the inside out is the name of my facebook page and blog :) Love the idea! I also love all the fries and have a terrible time not ordering them everywhere!
