  • So yesterday I went to get my eyes checked and new contacts. I was having a rough emotional day (waiting for progesterone levels and no sleep) and was not prepared for what I was faced with at all! I walk in the door two of the secretaries are pregnant. I can deal with that... then they go on talking about the other man who got married to a lady who had a young infant and then they got pregnant a month  into their marriage and then a month after that one was born got pregnant again with twins.. Seriously.. I wanted to just cry.. but I managed to hold it together.. Usually this stuff doesn't bother me but I was taken totally off guard and this whole TWW is making me crazy!

@theholmanherd Wow that is ridiculous! Two sets of twins! It makes you wonder if they're just super fertile or if they did that on purpose somehow (like taking unneeded fertility meds) *hugs* I know it's hard seeing people with so many children when we're struggling just to have one. If you were ever to go to the Catholic church you see that a lot, and some cases are more extreme (where the oldest child is twenty something and most likely also pregnant and the youngest is still in her belly...blech.

  • Mine is super fresh so I was unnecessarily emotional reading all of these.  Hugs to you all but especially @deelopi9, @lemonliz and @pinkdoggie.

This morning I got another text from my mom.  Because I don't want to sum it up I'm going to post it here again.  Hopefully it's not too annoying.

Mom "Hi. Auntie said [cousin]'s pregnancy is a secret for now so please don't share yet.  I didn't know that."
    Me "What!  [Cousin]'s pregnant?"
Mom "Oops I thought I told you that.  Well just pretend I didn't then."

Said cousin just had her 4th 6 months ago and doesn't use birth control.  It's not helping that I'm in the midst of an anovulatory cycle.
  • Thanks for the support and hugs ladies.. Sorry for all the crappy OPP ladies.. Sometimes IF just sucks!

  • So this is kinda an OPP, but a WTF & TPT too....I just have to let it out. I apologize in advance for the novel. It's been eating at me since Saturday. Back story: fall 2013, had my 10 year reunion & was able to see with my 2 very best friends. We talk on the phone almost every day but hadn't seen them in years. DH & I had just decided to start trying so I was excited to share the exciting news with them, seeing as 1 BFF had a DS & the other already had 2 DD's. They both shared they were trying again too. We made plans to take maternity pics together & all kinds of fun plans. Both got pregnant (born in May & Sept) & I played the supportive, happy role of best friend. So....fast forward to Saturday. Finally got to meet my BFF's newest DS, born in May. We were sitting there with my mom & she was excited about the kids & asking her tons of questions, like if they are planning on having any more kids. She then says how they want to adopt in the future but she's getting too old for her to have kids and all this crap that just killed me. She is the one person besides DH & my aunt that knows everything (who has offered TWICE to carry our baby for us even though we're no where near that point yet), but she chose those words among others?! Btw, she's 6 months younger than me so she just turned 29. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive because I was at my parents & DH was working during my ovulation or because my RE appointment isn't until the end of the January.

@Bluefairy5 it was awesome that your mom was understanding that you didn't want to hear her "so and so got pregnant after doing this simple thing" story. I feel like not a lot of people would understand that and would get offended so it's great that she understood and you got a sense of relief. :)

  • @murrt - that is not cool of your friend, and her comment was particularly insensitive. I hate the "mom club" thing that happens as soon as a friend pops out a baby!

@wifeofafarmer - also not cool of your friend. You are not over-sensitive, but you should know that your friend is wrong. Ovaries don't have an expiration date!

I don't have one today, so I instead I am sending a big 'ole hug to everyone! If I could stop people from saying crazy and/or cruel things, I would.

  • I just wanted to pop in and give hugs to you all! There have been some real doozies on this thread today.

@BandM14‌ and @cbnola71‌ I agree! Kendall was practically naked in lingerie yesterday. No more naked Kardashians please!

  • Big hugs all around.  There are some crazy ones today.

Today is CD1 for me, which means that our Letrozole/TI cycle during "break" was a BFN.  I didn't even bother testing, and didn't think that the unsuccessful cycle bugged me, but my emotions are off the charts.  Depression is hitting a new low, and I'm thinking of taking another month off mainly to get some therapy.
Yesterday, when spotting got heavier, DH let me know that one of our friends just scheduled her c-section and this morning another friend announced the birth of her baby.  I am happy for both of them, but this is just terrible timing.

  • Another 29-year-old here. And all this time I thought age was just a number. Guess we better pack it up and spend our IVF savings on a nice vacay. -_-

@ttcbabyj Oh man, I can't believe that her excuse-slash-fake-apology had to include a snotty reference to the fact that she is pregnant.

@theholmanherd Ahh, I am jealous. Jealous jealous jealous. It doesn't bother me too much to see people with a child (not an infant), because I guess I assume we'd be able to afford adopting at least one child at some point. But it kills me to see big families like that. At this point, it's so hard to imagine how we could end up with the big family we dream of.

  • Mine is sort of a cumulative OPP... I saw five pregnancy announcements in the past week on either Facebook or directly in my email. I think people are using Thanksgiving as an excuse to announce? Although three of them were today so maybe that's not it. Two of them are people who have now lapped me since I started trying. Usually I can handle the occasional pregnancy announcement but I think having five with two laps was just too much and I'm bummed. OH and add to that one facebook birth announcement. I'm not super close with that person and they rarely post anything so i had no idea she was even pregnant. So technically that's six OPP announcements this week. Ug.
