The walking dead SPOILERS!!

***spoilers!!!!!!

I don't know about any of you but when Dawn shot Beth I screamed so loud I woke up my husband, my dogs and the neighbors dogs. This has to be one of the most tragic losses in the show. Just the way it went down & the way the group is going to grieve. It's absolutely going to take us toll.

I also called the Morgan return at the beginning of the episode and was so happy he found the map.

I don't want to wait til February.

  • Whyyyy BETH?!?!? Ugh that was not expected at all, I'm still in shock! :((
  • Also- anyone follow TWD on Facebook? They posted a pic of Daryl holding dead Beth and 'rip Beth' a minute after the episode ended. Bad form TWD. Bad form.
  • WHOA, I did not see that coming! I'm so sad, I really started to like Beth this season.

  • I cried, I never cry.... How do you guys think Maggie with deal with this?
  • So I live on the coast where this hasn't aired yet. But the fucking TWD facebook page just posted the Beth spoiler, apparently forgetting there are a bunch of us out here in the left half of the US. So I thought I'd bitch about it in here. Since it's not like I haven't seen the spoiler already. *seethes*
  • I wasn't expecting that at all and totally cried. I didn't think I even cared that much about Beth but I came to really like her this season.

I'm watching Talking Dead and the actress that plays her is on and crying which is making me cry again...

  • @whitfry That sucks!!! I saw that it was posted essentially right as the show ended, but yeah- that's really crappy. Just about any time I get "spoiled" on Facebook, it's from friends posting things; not the actual show pages.

Amy and Jay When she cried, I cried again too... and when Norman and Lauren were talking about filming the scene. Ugh, emotions...

  • I wasn't even thinking about those of you in diff time zones! I was thinking 'don't they realize tons if people dvr so they can skip commercials?' (And therefore have a delay of a few min at least?) that has to be some kind of intern error! I can't imagine they meant to do that.

Anyone else think the commercials for the mid season premier & the talking dead we're both kind of lame? It was such a fantastic episode, to follow it up with that talking dead & not give us great upcomings was such a let down.

What are your thoughts - do you think Beth knew what she was risking when she went after Dawn? Do you think she did it just to take down the hospital? Seriously she could have just whispered to Daryl or Rick to shoot her!

And did anyone else notice if any of the wards/hospital folk went with the group?

  • I don't get upset when my friends accidentally post a spoiler. Thats whatev. But for the network to do it pisses me off. Especially since I'm not going to limit my communications with people based off a television show.

I figured it would be Carol, Beth, or that new preacher dude. But if Carol died there would be rioting in the streets, and the preacher was too new. So I'm not surprised that it's Beth, I was sort of expecting her to go. Still, I would have liked to be able to react to it as I witnessed it.

Still looking forward to actually watching the episode tomorrow, though.
  • I'm always a season behind because I watch on Netflix but saw this all over my newsfeed.  So sad!!!  In an interview I read the actress said it makes sense to kill of someone, anyone, at any time because that's really what it would be like, but it still sucks!

Now I just hope I can forget that it's going to happen by the time Netflix gets this season...

  • They aren't going there anymore- but it didn't say 'we're going' the map said 'we need you to come'. Hopefully Morgan realizes that Rick probably didn't go.

I'm going to be the insensitive one.  While I liked Beth and was sad to see her go, I'm relieved it wasn't a bigger character.  I was shocked at how it happened and actually thought she was pretty fucking stupid to stab Dawn.  I mean, in the shoulder Beth, really?  And you couldn't have maybe told someone else to shoot her on the way out?  Let's elevate an already tense situation by stabbing someone after the trade has already been made.  It was a dumb move on her part.  But I can def. see how, as an actress, leaving the show would be really hard.  They've worked together for so long and have grown so close, it's gotta be hard to not be a part of it anymore.

So excited to see Morgan and the look on his face when he recognized Rick's name on the paper!  I'm expecting big things from him and hope he can deliver.
Pretty much everything you said!! I liked Beth but if a main character had to go, I would rather Beth than Darryl, Rick, Glenn, Carol etc.

I can't wait for February!! I kind of wanted them to stay at the hospital and set up there. They are always on the run and I just want them to find a safe place. I guess that would make the show pretty boring but I still want them all to survive.

  • Too soon? I was hyping myself up that it was going to to be Carol! I'm glad it wasn't. If anyone ::had:: to go, I was ::happy:: it was Beth.
  • The moral compass always dies. I did think it might be Tyrese this time, though...
  • I gasped and cried... that was not what I was expecting. :((

Exactly what I did. I thought she was annoying in previous seasons but liked Beth this season. I thought she grew up a lot in the hospital.

I was pissed about the spoilers too because it was TWD official FB page. Come on, you know people on the West Coast haven't watched yet. If it was one of my friends I wouldn't have been as upset.

Having said that, it was still a good episode. When Tyrese admitted that he didn't kill Martin I was surprised because the actor appeared on Talking Dead and said Tyrese really thought he'd killed him. It's nice to see that he and Sash still have some of their humanity, but those are the people who end up dead or someone else does as a result of letting bad people live.

Seeing Daryl cry was hard, I don't think he got that emotional when his brother died. I agree that Beth knew what would happen but she should have aimed better. It was a stupid risk to take in such a hostile situation. Maggie's reaction made me want to cry all over again. She didn't react that way when she first found out Beth was gone, but seeing her body made it all the more real.

It was nice to see Morgan at the end but I wonder how he'll even find Rick's group at this point. I'm glad they are all reunited and cannot wait for February.

It's crazy to think that as far as it seems, some of us will have or will be getting ready to have our babies around that time. That makes it seem not that far of a wait.

Omg. I can't believe after 5 seasons of constant death and gore, I cried during an episode of TWD. I felt the same way Rick did when the Governor killed Hershel.

YES to @Darbie914‌ about the horrible effing aim. These people spend their lives on the run, constantly stabbing zombies in the skull and Beth hits Dawn in the shoulder? It was so misguided I had to rewind to be sure what happened. @LBeez13‌ I thought they'd stay at the hospital, too. I can't believe AMC let out a spoiler!

What did Morgan's note say? I couldn't make it out on rewind.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • The walking dead Facebook just posted this apology.
  • @colleen4019‌ I saw that a little while ago and I mean it's nice they apologized but it still sucked some of the life out of the episode for me. Hopefully they won't do it again.

  • Yea. Hopefully they've learned from their mistake.
  • Just watched this last night, but I knew what was coming because Facebook spoiled it for me.

DH and I were trying to figure out what Beth meant when she said "I get it now" right before she stabbed Dawn. The best I could come up with is that Dawn used Beth in one way or another to get rid of all of all of the "bad cops" who were a problem for Dawn. At the end, the only bad cop left was Dawn, and Beth took it upon herself to take her out. DH was unconvinced by that, though. Any other theories?

I figured that it was because Dawn kept insisting she was just trying to keep the group together and she kept playing up how she was just doing her best for the sake of everyone. But when she demanded Noah she proves it was just an act and in reality she was just power hungry.
I agree. I think Beth understood that Dawn was a very flawed leader- more harmful than good. And I think Beth decided to take her out.
I don't know why she stabbed her in the shoulder through a bulletproof vest. Her neck would have been just as easy. Or like I said before, why didn't she just ask someone to shoot her?
