Thoughts on Holiday Music...

Okay, recently MH and I have launched a local holiday music radio station in our area. It is a pop up that will go dark after the holidays. Since doing this I've realized that people have very very deep and ingrained opinions on holiday music. They either love it or hate it. What are your thoughts?

    Love Christmas, love holiday music, but not until after Thanksgiving.

    I love holiday music during this time of year. I will listen to it at other points of the year if I am working on a project for the holidays early. Gets me motivated!
    We met in middle school. We got married 15 years later in a February blizzard of 2010.

    I'm a freak for holiday music... which is why we launched the station in our area. I don't listen ALL year long... but if I'm spinning some vinyl at home I might pick a Christmas one occasionally just to feel festive. I'll never turn off a holiday song if it is on...

    If you want to listen to our station you can stream it HERE!

    We don't get anything if you listen stream, so I'm not spaming/phishing or anything. Just offering up some holiday jams for anyone who wants to listen!!

    I was in choir for most of my educational career, and every year we started learning those blasted songs somewhere around October. Pair that with my years in retail, and I only like holiday music in very small doses.

    I'm Jewish, so holiday music isn't really my thing. There are certain songs I enjoy, though, like Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You."

    I think I could listen to the Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas cd every day. It's so relaxing! ;)

    I clicked anytime after Thanksgiving, but I'm in Ontario, Canada so our Thanksgiving is much earlier!

    I like to listen to Christmas music after Thanksgiving not before.  There was a radio station playing it on Halloween!!!!! Way too early.  I enjoy listening most though when I'm wrapping presents, baking cookies, or decorating to put me in the spirit.

    I put after Thanksgiving (because any earlier is just..please no). I have a secret love for holiday music and I find that I am happy when I listen to it, but I fight it and rarely ever listen. 

    Side note- I didn't really realize that until you posted this up. Hrm..therapy time? :D 
    I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

So today on my way to work I was listening and a christmas song came on and then the DJ said: if you want to listen to 24/7 Music head over to 106.1. So I turn the dial (as my hands are freezing in the 3 degree weather and... :( I can't get you in Ahmeek or even Houghton. But now I can listen online. So, small world eh?

    Wowzers!! Yeah, 106.1 is a small signal that hits mostly Marquette County. Hit up the link though, that can be listenened to anywhere in the world. It is streaming over the internet, so be sure to use WiFi and not data on a device unless you have unlimited data.
